"stress free"!!!

Personally I would have been as stressed as most other GACA holders when Aviva tried, briefly & unsuccessfully to redeem the prefs at par a few years ago.

That very publicly came to naught and compensation paid; but seems as though you knew nothing about it as you dreamt on in your hammock.

Remarkable insouciance..:)€522;

Both contribute; however IMO a bit more to this. Does look to me as though someone or other is as convinced as I am (though with much deeper pockets!) that Aviva will soon make an offer to redeem all 4 prefs.

I suggest they will offer a 5% yield; so providing a considerable premium to Market.

In the case of GACA - 177.5p - still a 25% premium to where we are today at 142p.

With the GA prefs there’s worry that Aviva can unilaterally cancel them on unfavourable terms whilst with the Avica prefs it would need the approval of its shareholders and they refused when it tried a few years ago.

GACA trades further away from par than GACB so more risk if cancelled/redeemed at par or below market value.

Added some GACA this morning for a yield of just shy of 7%. Used some of my recent dividends from stocks to pick up what this morning is a good yield on a pref for long term income

Since Skyship not around for a while I will have a go..

Prices based on buy price of 10K Shares and not including tax or dealing costs.

AV.A - 129.48 (6.76% yield)
AV.B - 126.80 (6.60% yield)
GACA - 126.24 (7.03% yield)
GACB - 118.05 (6.67% yield)

As usual GACA appear best bet, but also consider that they don't go ex-div until June.

Cheers

I'm afraid this delayed payment of dividends, interest on bonds and allocation of cash after corporate actions by HL become their "norm" about 2 years ago and is not getting any better.

I can clearly see as I have an account with AJ Bell that it's not down to anything other than HL.

The only reason I stick around with HL is because their price execution is sometimes better than AJ Bell. I see AJ Bell have announced trades from £5 starting in April. Unless HL are going to move their pricing to compete I shan't be with HL much longer.

I currently have a dividend which was paid on 29th December still waiting to appear in my account.
