05/6/2021 22:01 | I wonder what will do gcm with the 572million tonnes of coal …. A giant barbecue… « The COP26 President-Designate welcomed the prospect of Bangladesh transitioning away from coal to clean and renewable energy, which will create economic growth and sustainable jobs. » | ![]() longjohnsilver1

04/6/2021 20:49 | But They need to hurry up…. « to end all new direct government support for international coal power by the end of 2021 » We also need to see action on the most polluting sectors. If we are serious about 1.5 degrees, Glasgow must be the COP that consigns coal power to history, calls time on deforestation and signals the end of polluting vehicles. So we are working with governments and through international organisations to end international coal financing, a personal priority of mine. We are urging countries to abandon coal power, and we are working with developing countries to support their transition to clean energy. We are seeing real progress. The G7 Climate and Environment Ministers' meeting, which I recently co-chaired, committed G7 nations to end all new direct government support for international coal power by the end of 2021. And ministers agreed to transition away from dirty coal domestically to an overwhelmingly decarbonised power system in the 2030s. I am encouraged that Bangladesh is also rethinking its energy trajectory, and reducing its pipeline of coal-fired power stations. I have confirmed that UK support is available for scaling up renewable energy. | ![]() longjohnsilver1

04/6/2021 11:54 | LJS is a lost cause AP is just a cantankerous bitter old man who reflects his own self hate and disappointment onto others. Imagine deciding to be a troll at his age? Its beyond embarrassing. I guarantee his family (if they still speak to him) have no idea that: A. He lost his pension on a bad investment B. Deliberately tried to drag others down with him C. He is an Internet troll D. He is the 2nd most hated poster on this board | therealsatan666
04/6/2021 10:09 | What is vomiting the filtered troll after the master Longjohn No project still? Hahahahahahahahahaha | ![]() longjohnsilver1
04/6/2021 08:24 | The clown team will never understand Stupid one day, stupid always More money will be needed, more dilution, more delay The same for years | ![]() longjohnsilver1
04/6/2021 07:27 | findley - you know as well as everybody else, that the delay is Hasina. While she procrastinates, the project is held in abeyance - we have to wait. Take GCM out of the picture and the whole scenario changes. it just becomes an infrastructure project in Bangla. The London listing of GCM makes it more controversial. It is a binary bet - we lose our money or we get rich. | malcolmyoung
04/6/2021 00:49 | Oh dear mickey. You still can't understand. This is the can kicked down the road yet again for another 6 months. Again. So cash will run low again. Funds will be needed by the time the mou needs refreshing. Again.China are stringing this along as they know gcm is not able to compete.Even the rns states the Chinese are renegotiating their stake in the power project....which translates as they see gcm are becoming weaker, so China think they can grab a bigger slice. | ![]() apfindley |
