A good day of consolidation around the $17 level. Shows good support after the rapid rise of nearly $4 from the low of just over $13 on August 17th, a 30% rise in less than two weeks.

Profit taking , a few days then will continue up if news of more deals. If no news expect 1600 for a while IMHO. I only look in every 6 months as the end of the journey is more important than the time it takes to get there. I expect 2400 by feb/ March and may top slice then.

Festario, if we all had hindsight then share investing/trading would be an easy game. I realised $13.20 was a bargain but unfortunately didn't have any free funds to take advantage.

Anyway I'm normally pretty cr*p at doing short term trades, hence I tend to invest for the longer term with the hope that I can return multiples of my investment rather than 10 or 20% here and there.

Can anyone explain the three announcements about the share dealings that Michael Smurfit has carried out this year.

Looks like someone hasn't been complying with announcements required when a director buys or sells shares, but it is far from clear what has gone on!

Not $400 million that would imply he had almost 50% of the equity which he does not. If my memory serves me correctly the Smurfs in total have about 25% and Dermot a minority of that total stake.
