Cricket i feel your pain as a long term holder. The board need to do something. |
so lets be honest here. Look at this: The table below shows the list of the major shareholders as of 31st January 2025. Shareholder No. of Shares Percentage of issued share capital Michael Buckley 25700000 8.72% No sweat - nice package
Rich Ricci 17866550 6.06% (chump change -
Mark Blandford 12598738 4.27% a NED
Approx 80% held by Joe Public. Not one organisation thinks they are worth throwing some money at. What does that tell you?
So what pressure are they under? Sweet FA. Its a lifestyle organisation |
The board certainly needs to be proactive and have a plan of action as shareholders are starting to lose interest and liquidate their holdings, no point holding on to a share that is stagnant it's been far too long. |
yup there is a cricketer who has his eye on the ball. Been saying that for ages - it can't hold above 40. You think they would either consolidate - or give us a strategic plan of what is going to happen.
They are in comfort mode - most probably hopng someone will swoop in and make them (not us) millionaires |
The share price has not moved above 40p in 10 years and has been as low as 5p. In the absence of any corporate interest, the board needs to consider actively how to unlock value for shareholders. The start of dividend payments or a share buyback or tender offer for part of shareholders holdings would utilise the cash in a beneficial way. |
35.5 is the current floor for the funds selling, so I don't have a lot of hope this will run up too much no matter what the news......unless a dividend is on the books. It really should be sitting on 50p based on the trading update alone. |
Thank you for the replies much appreciated, just had a sneaky feeling They may drop a surprise in tomorrow to accompany cuts hopefully not, just had a bit of time today trying to work out why this isn't moving, everyone knows the fundamentals, every rise gets sold into but there are lots of aim companies this happens too at the moment |
Soft target but likely end up shooting themselves in the foot if they do. Just as easy to base out of Malta like most then they miss out on corporate tax from the profits from non double tax countries the companies operate in. Huge taxpayers like Denise from Bet365 could just as easily live in Monaco if they get too greedy. |
Unlikely tomorrow as the Treasury have said it's more about spending and there will be no significant tax measures.
The Autumn Budget is the more likely timeframe if it happens.
Having said that, only 11% of their revenues come from operators based in the UK/Channel Islands according to the accounts so it would have a much smaller impact than a few years ago.
They also state in the Risk Factors that the tax liability is borne by the operator although I guess ultimately any pain would be shared. |
No one has mentioned the possibility Of a increase in uk gambling tax here, being sprung tomorrow, super positive on gaming realms starting to feel this will become a increasing easy option for a government trying to balance the books, Appreciate any thoughts on this. |
Slingo honey crew, with more character development, let's see how it goes in a pretty crowded market, but probably the way forward.https://www.linkedin.com/posts/gaming-realms_this-is-slingo-as-youve-never-seen-it-before-activity-7310248675794903041-xfsM?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_ios&rcm=ACoAAEbmZ18B1DqPg111hbtsfVqEYMHzEvjreI4 |

To be fair to Paul Scott, the last PUBLISHED cash total (11 09 24 H1 results) was £9.6m as at 30 06 24, which he called £10m.
If the company cannot be bothered to tell us, the owners, the amount of cash it had on 31 12 24 in its pre-close trading update on 04 02 25, why should Paul Scott bother to try to work it out for us, and would anyone believe his figure if he did?
I thought the two Pauls' comments about the company were spot on, but they probably should have mentioned the operational gearing.
I have had a near zero CAGR on this stock over about an 18 month holding period. Usually when this happens, and the company is piling up idle cash, the stock just takes off after one sells for lack of return. Time to load up, not sell, but then again the two Pauls mentioned other stocks with mega operational gearing and ski slope share price graphs that might be better investments, TRCS being a case in point (a software business, like us, but for more efficiently operating train services).
Epicsurf, your point about the cash adjusted PE is well made. |
Thank you peterrr3 Small-cap Investing with Paul Hill and Paul Scott on vox Markets at 31 min mark talk about gaming realms.
I have the cash pile growing on average at £600,000 a month so should top 20 million by end of next fiancial year if not used for dividends/acquisitions. A cash adjusted p/e wasn't taken into account in the interview as well as a outdated cash in bank total. |
Update provided on Jan and Feb. I was unaware of the new Belgium operator and a couple of the bigger operators into Brazil. They really have organise their messaging to the investment community better, even if that is using a bunch of pay to promote analysts which I usually hate.https://www.gamingrealms.com/round-up/january-february-news-round-up-2/ |
Couple more Slingo variants live for the masses, no sign of the new US sports franchise affiliated games yet. |
Live with a igaming operator Shark77 in Ontario. Still waiting on BC final approvals. Single regulated platform there, so a big opportunity given the large Chinese community. |
dare say the company is doing well but I'm fed up with the shares. In fact I sold half mine a few months ago and have no regrets. Nevertheless, this might be interesting...

There was significant volume mid Jan 25. I was hoping that was a reasonable bite into those who wanted out. Otherwise you are right and it will continue to cap the impact of any good news. |
M&G still hold 5.6m shares, as at end of 2024. They held 6.7m at the end of June 2024, so they’ve only offloaded another 1.1m shares through the second half of the year.
Not sure what to make of that. It either means they’re not selling out but only reducing their position or it means, if they are selling out, they’ve a long long way to go and it will be a really slow process. |
Thanks PJ had no idea |
