21/3/2012 07:32 | game over RNS Number : 7614Z Game Group PLC 21 March 2012 21 March 2012 The GAME Group plc ('GAME' or 'the Group') Suspension from trading "Further to the announcements of 12 March 2012 and 14 March 2012, the board of GAME has assessed the status of the ongoing and regular discussions between GAME and its lending banks and between its lending banks and a potential third party provider of finance to the business. 21/3/2012 07:09 | reallyrich - 20 Mar'12 - 20:29 - 3695 of 3708 If they went into admin, won't the banks also get 0000? ==================== Nope ... they would break up the group and just sell the parts that the interested suitors want and then the creditors get paid and if there is anything left then the shareholders get that. | ihavenoclue
21/3/2012 03:33 | Good article from the FT. It talks more about speeding up the closure of shops, and cost control, rather than going into admin. Well let's hope | reallyrich

21/3/2012 03:10 | How can the banks refuse to be paid back? If OpCapita gave Game 140 million in return for ??? they are asking for, and then Game trotted off to the bank and slapped down the cash and said up yours, the bank can't refuse the money. If I had a loan at my bank and what to pay it back early I can. (maybe a small payback early penalty) The only people that could refuse Opcapita are Game itself. Please your thoughts on this | reallyrich
20/3/2012 23:54 | More news from FT: You can see from article, OpCapita offered to pay £100million debt back to bank and £40million to supplier....so total offer of £140million based partnership... If admin was only option, banks would have said, OpCapita offer is the best you Game can get! Go for it! An admin will cost more then benefit...and admin company is the one benefiting from their £1000/hour charges etc Game has value, hence many interested parties...but everyone trying to bargain hunt and not really coming forward with a great offer yet it seems. Money is tight in the market...unless Apple bids...lol Anyway what if company stays as it is, restructuring program agreed with bank with more store closure as in article...more finance from bank and strict cost control etc...Game can turn profit again next year...Game will then be still on.... | mali7

20/3/2012 23:02 | If true, the 4th approach, i.e., voluntary administration is nothing else but the management buyout at the expense of both the shareholders and the employees. The same crooks will remain at the steering wheel. The plan is to suspend shares at LSE on Monday, open a new company and issue new share capital (recapitalise it with the help of current lenders). IMO, this is scandalous if they can get away with it. | justthemoney
20/3/2012 22:33 | Bearing in mind the full divi was paid last year, I think shareholders have good reason to be upset right now. Incredulous even. | pullittogether
