hpcg - beg to differ, as yesterday buys were well above sells and mm's pulled this right back, so nothing is always as simple as it seems when it comes to trading. Anyway i'm feeling better as its moving in the right direction:-)

There is nothing weird about the price action. Sellers let it rise, because there is clearly some buying eagerness, then they ease in to offload some, then let it rise again. The buybacks work around that. Looks perfectly reasonable to me.

just a thought, judging by those large sells and weird price action (yesterday) and todays biggy sells. Management have done a great job with that sale as i think many were expecting a notional amount.

agreed on that, why pre do you think it is being shorted?

Hopefully see back of a quid this week....DYOR

pre - there is zero likelihood of this being shorted. No one shorts cash rich companies with buy back programs. Really, no one. Much more likely are those that mechanically sell half of any share that has doubled. This is much more likely here. People sell all the time for assorted reasons. The presence of selling tells us nothing about the future discounted cash flows of the company and its future prospects in general.

Just need to soak up those sells

EV/future EBITDA should be v. attractive, new USA cash should allow further buy backs, and the UK EBITDA forecasts should IMO start to get reflected in the underlying value of the equity & rating....let's see, DYOR

Solid buying, lets hope it holds today after yesterdays traderfest.

I've always objected to buybacks v dividends but they do seem to lessen volatilty.

I would much much rather have the buy back. A buy back means liquidity every single trading day. A buy back means if I want to sell for any reason at all there is a buyer. A buy back encourages momentum in the chart, and investors like to buy charts going from bottom left to top right. Cash on the balance sheet is making money. I'd rather they invest in technology and the ongoing business.

The transaction is expected to close by the end of June. We should get confirmation next week cash in bank but more importantly what they gonna do with the 200m now in the bank.
