Here is the Richter site for those models.https://www.richter.com.au/category/digital-audio/digital-radio/Over the ditch in New Zealand we will not be moving to DAB any time soon. Pilots were run around a decade ago. The decision was that NZ listeners will use the Internet. There is some digital radio over the TV free-to-air (Freeview) but limited as we need TV receivers or set top boxes.Radio looks like staying with FM and MW for a long time.We have a large country with a thinly spread population. Fast Broadcast is still a dream for most of the population.

"The CORE, a kitchen radio, is a stylish retro-looking DAB/FM with an RRP of $74.98 (about £45). The set has a small display, an extendable antenna, and button controls. It can be operated off battery.

The WAKE is a digital alarm-clock radio with NFC-controlled Bluetooth connection, a large rotary volume control, a wire antenna, and a USB charging port for your phone. It'll retail at $159 (£95), and will be available in both a walnut and a black version.

Internally, both sets use the Frontier Silicon Verona 2 module.

Retailers at launch include Harvey Norman stores, online, and independent outlets.

DAB+ sets in Australia are still regarded as premium products by many manufacturers, and these lower-priced receivers should be welcomed by audiences."

Buggy, it is a sign of how big the overall market is becoming, so plenty of the pie for everyone. Plus, FST will be supplying third party manufacturers in addition to Google's Home speaker.

Monty,

How is the last bit good news? Is FST involved with Amazon Echo? I thought that FST is only involved with google, if so then Echo is a direct competitor to google assistance where we are involved.

Australia has just decided to roll out DAB across major cities and also more good news here in the personal assistant market:

Following Amazon.com's (AMZN) decision to slash prices for its Echo Dot to $49 from $99, a new report from DigiTimes suggests that the e-commerce giant will surpass 10 million shipments of the device in 2017.

Some suppliers even contend that Amazon has already increased its orders to over 10 million units this year, more than triple the 2016 volume.

The price reduction boosts both Amazon's smart speaker device overall demand, sources from the upstream supply chain told DigiTimes.

The sources also told the publication that the Echo Dot has already achieved Amazon's annual shipment goal planned initially for 2017, in just a few months.

Shares of Amazon were higher nearly 1% during the final hour of trading on Friday.

Good luck to Pure!! I hope for their sake he doesn't go empire building again and bankrupt the firm with useless acquisitions, as Pure is a good customer for FST.

It may feel a bit awkward though, as the Pure office is literally 100 yards from IMG, who sacked him last year! On a positive note, SHY is a decent guy so it is nice he has been reunited with his baby. I just hope the CEO of Pure keeps SHY's ambitions in check, or the Austrian owners do.

Call me cynical but...The change of name and Share consolidation has been well managed.
Broker/company found an institution wanting to buy decent stake-Ruffer.
Soaked up all the stale Sensium/penny share traders over 6 month period before anticipated orders from google/minuet collaboration.

You would expect them to start to get some decent orders start to come through over the next 4 months from manufacturers preparing for the Xmas market.

It isn't just that the market seems to be neglecting what may be about to happen - it's worse as still the share price falls. Tempted to add - been tempted before!!

Frontier Silicon Smart Audio solution with Google Assistant

London, 23 May 2017

Frontier Silicon, a leading provider of consumer audio technologies, announces that its Smart Audio platform, Minuet, has been upgraded to include Google Assistant.

Google assistant logo1.png

Minuet already allows brands and manufacturers to develop smart audio devices with Chromecast built-in. With the addition of Google Assistant, users will be able to control their smart speakers via voice and use these speakers not only to play music but also to access internet services, such as news, update personal schedules and control a wide range of smart home devices.

As a reference platform, Minuet provides a complete toolkit for brands and manufacturers to develop smart audio devices with Google Assistant quickly and cost-effectively.

Frontier Silicon is one of a very small number of solution providers chosen by Google to work on this technology.

Anthony Sethill, CEO, Frontier Silicon, said:

“With the advent of voice control and smart home music streaming, smart speakers are quickly becoming hubs for the smart home. By incorporating Google Assistant into Minuet, we will enable third party brands and manufacturers to bring to market their own high quality voice-enabled speakers quickly and cost effectively.”

That is promising from IO17, especially as Google Home is already being promoted on regular TV ads since last month's launch.

If your aim is to maximize the return on your investment, how do you justify wasting £592,000 in share options and £951,000 in salaries over 4 years on somebody who failed to perform a basic task competently, leaves us with the indignity of a dodgy Cayman Islands registration and contributes nothing to earnings?

Excuse me, but your (adventurous) beloved uncle Anthony was the one who botched our Sensium and turned £58 million into £1.3 million over 4 years, so why should we continue to waste money on his bloated salary and gift him £1.2 million for undoing only 40% of the damage HE did to shareholders' investments and before he has mumbled an apology, made a penny in profits, paid a dividend, or even clearly stated a policy of maximizing shareholder returns?

Ah, but that was during development. I would also note that Frontier Silicon has only once, I'm told, generated a profit despite having a dominant market share..Sensium now looks to be a real business rather than an unwanted appendix of a DAB business.https://www.sensium.co.uk/
