09/5/2023 09:14 | They didn't get F1 back for another year they signed a contract for a 4 game (1 per year) deal. If that contract was cancelled then they would have had to put out an RNS within a couple of days of it being pulled. Additionally every communication they have put out stated it was in progress. There was never any doubt they were still making the second game unless you get your information from random conspiracy theorists on web forums like Yank clearly does. | fledgling1nvestor
09/5/2023 08:52 | To be fair to Yank he was right about a few things. For me though I put everything in the context of valuation. I bought in at 11 and sold at 25. Its now back to 5 and I've got back in quite sizeably. There aren't many negatives that yank can say that I don't think aren't priced in down here. Losing F1 manager was probably the only one... and they just got that for another year. | mortal1ty
06/5/2023 16:35 | Oh no, live streams being cut back for a single game in their catalogue. How on Earth will that affect the stock price. Spoiler. It won't. Who cares? | fledgling1nvestor
06/5/2023 15:45 | How long would you like to see it supported for? Isn’t up ur 10 year grievance over the fact it couldn’t be played offline? Surely you’d like to see the end of it? | jfbonner
06/5/2023 12:18 | Since you mention Elite Dangerous, FDEV just announced another cutback in support. The originally weekly livestream, previously cut to by-weekly, is now cut to monthly. "We hear many of your concerns over this decision, with some Commanders expressing worry over whether this is a reflection of future life span decisions related to Elite, in the long term. I'd like to reassure everyone that this decision holds absolutely no such cause for concern of this kind." hxxps://forums.front | yankhanson
06/5/2023 00:32 | Sorry YH. Very mean of me. I only posted that to get a rise from you 😂 Very childish of me. There have been mistake but I’m still happy to invest in fdev. Also got years of enjoyment out our elite. Years. I’ve happily paid for AAA games elsewhere but only played them for months. I’m glad you’re still posting though YH. The day you don’t is the day I’ll worry about you | jfbonner
05/5/2023 21:43 | At the last profits warning, the CEO said a drop in annual revenue could be avoided "if one of the upcoming Foundry titles is a conspicuous success". Of those three titles, two bombed. Last week the third got a sales boost from exiting early access, but this looks very short lived, such that by next week sales will be back down to insignificant. hxxps://store.steamp | yankhanson
05/5/2023 21:36 | Stranded Alien Dawn user reviews are below average and well down from the game's first release. But hey, could be worse. Could be as bad as FDEV's other new games this year. Deliver Us Mars and Great War Western Front. User review score even lower and again well down since release. | yankhanson
05/5/2023 19:04 | This about to poop? YH is when he sees how positive Stranded: Alien Dawn reviews are! | jfbonner
05/5/2023 10:00 | Own price target here at around 6.80-7.20 | cirlbunting1
04/5/2023 09:26 | Presuming the interest is on a takeover....?? | chrisdgb
02/5/2023 10:26 | This about to poop? | thomstar
02/5/2023 08:57 | Frontier developments confirmed they will be releasing a f1 manager 2023. I believe there was some small concern f1 might pull the contract given 2022 one wasn't great. | mortal1ty
02/5/2023 08:42 | Wow, alllooking good here….. | chrisdgb
02/5/2023 08:40 | Something afoot here? Was there any news on 5/6 April that caused that erroneous spike up to 500 on volume? Chart is certainly interesting after the 5 month consolidation, now breaking upwards | se81
25/4/2023 07:37 | Thanks for breaking the news Yank. Oh wait they announced they were fully amortising the development costs in FY22 due to poor performance in their Half year statement, 15 months ago. It's a complete non-issue in the current fiscal year. Or are you suggesting they should act against their fiduciary duty to their shareholders and continue wasting money on servers for an obviously failed product? | fledgling1nvestor
24/4/2023 22:08 | Thanks YH 😂 | jfbonner
24/4/2023 21:28 | FDEV is withdrawing its flopped shooter game Lemnis Gate. hxxps://www.eurogame "So, why did it fail?" hxxps://steamcommuni | yankhanson
17/4/2023 22:48 | Oh Yank I’ve missed you 😆! Over 20 years now, isn’t it? Well made Axe you’ve got, grinding it for so long! | jfbonner
17/4/2023 22:24 | hamhamham19 "The company is also backed by Chinese giant Tencent" Nonsense, of course. Five years ago Tencent bailed FDEV out of a cash crisis. The cover story was a "strategic partnership". Which never happened. | yankhanson
17/4/2023 22:24 | AdamB1978, on FDEVs stinky R&D capitalisation, read Maynard Paton on ShareScope. "So… capitalise some extra COBRA costs and double your take-home pay through a bonus!" "The rather questionable bookkeeping makes the valuation seem completely mad to me." | yankhanson
16/4/2023 21:45 | I'm working off the assumption the new management team have finally bottomed estimates. Trading statements will be inline. Then the story will rebuild around future projects. I would say 7 to 8 pound on stable trading, then 10 to 12 pound when a little excitement of new projects comes through. | mortal1ty
13/4/2023 08:28 | How do the seasoned watchers expect this to play out for the rest of the year...? | chrisdgb
09/4/2023 11:01 | ...There is also the looming threat of acquisition as in recent years British video game companies have been picked off by larger international rivals. Last year tech giant Microsoft agreed a £50billion mega-merger with Activision Blizzard, the maker of first-person shooter franchise Call Of Duty and online fantasy role-playing game World Of Warcraft. But Watts again is undeterred, highlighting Braben's 33 per cent stake in Frontier as a likely bulwark against any opportunistic bids. The company is also backed by Chinese giant Tencent, which is its second-largest shareholder with an 8.6pc stake. But Watts hasn't ruled out hitting the acquisition trail himself. Frontier recently snapped up Canadian developer Complex Games for £8.3million in cash after a collaboration between the two companies on gothic science fiction game Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters, which was released in May. 'We're very ambitious, we want to grow,' Watts says, although he remains tight-lipped when asked which other companies are on his radar. Becoming the head of a major video game company seemed to be the natural path for Watts. Yep a couple of months old, but hey. | hamhamham1
05/4/2023 08:48 | I'm not so concerned about capitalisation of r&d and cash flow. The business is investing for growth. The problem is growth isn't there due to poor title performance. | mortal1ty |
