Fozzy, I am in agreement about the cost recovery pool. If I was representing the State agencies I would want to discount expenditure on the MK gas until there is a funded field development plan for it. Fortunately the vast majority of the expenditure has been on the development of oil resources so it shouldn't be a deal breaker if majors are stepping into the frame.

Where I might disagree with you is on Socar's involvement. There is bad blood between the two companies because of what Socar did to FRR many years ago in Azerbaijan. My money is therefore on Repsol as the second major owing to the MOU they signed with the SAOG back in May:hxxp://www.interpressnews.ge/en/society/95620-spanish-company-repsol-to-study-hydrocarbon-potential-of-georgia.html?ar=A

They have a huge Capex budget for onshore upstream activities and might well be hanging on Exxon's coat tails since Exxon starting talking to the Georgian agencies back in April. They will have done all their geological and petrophysical modelling by now and are no doubt monitoring the EWT's closely. They could also be using a middle man to fund Nico and I am sure we will hear more about that shortly.

Once the deal is done and arrangements agreed all will become clearer but until then I expect this to be much higher.

I honestly think the to do with gov was ref the cost recovery pool. It all kicked off just as Exxon entered the picture. I don't think the gov is keen on having $400m knocked off Exxon's profits for any production. Can't say I blame them having a go.

I'm 99% sure Exxon are in talks with FRR. Who is that other Major? Socar makes perfect sense to me.

@fozzy I'm relaxed. Still in way in profit and getting a nice short on slowly.

I'd be amazed if the situation is what you think it is but obviously it's possible in which case I'll take a small hit. I'm relaxed though.

I gave you honest good advice not to short this stock this morning and to have a trailing guaranteed stop loss on your position. It was hand on heart genuine advice. If I was going to short this stock I'd wait for the rise cycle to finish tomorrow or Weds and then open my position. And that's assuming it was a genuine conviction short.
