They do a fantastic job helping vulnerable and disabled individuals, but FEN shares seem overlooked since they recently reported good growth in 2020 and two acquisitions this year that will 'be immediately earnings enhancing'

Harwood is owned by Christopher Mills. He sold his IFA business of the same name to Carlyle, but that’s got nothing to do with his investment management business.

Great update and well bid. Seems that I am a lone voice here.

PS. I see that Harwood Capital is now part of Carlyle which I believe to be a very big company. It may be that Carlyle owns shares in FEN as well as HAHL and would be pleased to combine the two holdings which are of little consequence to it.

It is interesting to see that Harwood Capital owns 13% of NAHL and supports FEN's approach.
In February Harwood considered making an offer for FEN but decided against it.
I bought my FEN shares after the announcement that Harwood was considering a bid but before it changed its mind, which was not clever, and my FEN shares have only recently recovered and offer me a small profit.
If the NAHL acquisition proceeds, a high proportion of FEN's business will involve lawyers and, having worked as a solicitor for many years, I would rather invest in fund management than litigation !

All nice they are able to find oversubscription for the placing however I will be voting against this since they are not offering the shares to existing ordinary holder like myself.

Wow, growing well. Making good profits. Not been effected by covid either. I read that and was waiting for the inevitable "but..." and there wasn't one. Looking good here. Looking really good.

Interesting that Chris Mills is now on the Board. A positive step I feel. I am very confident that this is a good investment. There is a chance of a transformational deal or something interesting happening as they have a very solid base.

This seems to be creeping up on a bit of unusual volume. I wonder if our suitor is back at the table again ?

No comment on the update. Seemed very bullish. Market continues to like it.

Judging by the market action it seemed the offer was around 47p so clearly way to cheap. Sending them packing with a flea in their ear seems sensible!

Not surprised to see this bid called off. As topvest commented, CM wouldn't overpay and there are a number of other large holders who were unlikely to accept a low bid. Company still seem to be making good progress and may still be a takeover target but it is a niche business.

So what do Liontrust know that we don't as that's around 900k shares they've bought since the possible bid was announced and who is the seller?

Chris Mills won't overpay. 45-50p I suspect. Best route to win with Chris Mills is holding the North Atlantic Smaller Companies Investment Trust, so I will hopefully gain on both sides. I only invested here about 6m ago because Chris Mills had bought a stake. He's always worth watching.

Thinly traded share, over 75% held by institutions and a large chunk by Mr Mills so I doubt there's anything wrong here and, following the recent takeover of HW., I can't see that we will get 60p+ for these (which I need to make a profit).

Very surprised to see it close up just 4%, I mean someone paid 57p earlier. Is there some serious and highly illegal insider trading going on. Something doesn't smell right here. If it is then the market and shareholders are being subjected to serious fraud here.
