Indeed, now is not the right time to be considering marketing the business to sell it imo. (Of which they now concur).If they carry on doing what they are doing then in a few years time various suitors are going to start beating a path to their door in any case!

I agree and no point in selling out at a low price.

Once the anticipated flow of funds start to come in from the rule change and the AUM increase substantially they should be able to get a much higher price than what was on the table.

Wouldn't surprise me if Chris Mills involved in some way. His Oryx fund bought a 9% stake off of Jason Granite last december. He is also on the board and owns a big chunk of HW. It has just raised some cash. And its share price is rising. Am unclear if FEN would fit with HW. In any case, just one possibility.

Good news for FEN

The UK's insurers have been left reeling after the government this morning announced changes to a key insurance sector discount rate, costing them hundreds of millions of pounds

Direct Line said annual profits for 2016 would be cut by up to £230m, while motor insurer Admiral estimated it will take a hit of up £100m and is to delay the publication of its annual results.

The discount rate, mandated by the Ministry of Justice and the reference to which insurers discount compensation on personal injury claims, is to be adjusted from 2.5 per cent to -0.75 per cent.

£42m market cap is far too cheap when look at £3m+ EBIT this year alone and a growth story beyond this year from own fund management.

Good long term hold. Like the change in strategy by managing own funds and boosting profit. Like Jason Granite. Think the price should rise over the coming months as AUM increase with the increased profits coming through.

Yes I met Jason Granite at the recent ShareSoc event and he was very bright and actually seemed quite focused on generating returns for investors. There are write ups of the company presentations on the ShareSoc website

I agree, new strategy makes sense, following Michael Spencer's cash is probably going to be a good move, I've also met J Granite in the past, years before he was involved in this, but do know he is a very bright guy so expect great things.

I have been here for a while and am also in for the long term. I like the direction the company is now going in. Management have stated that operating profits should double over the course of the next year and they now have the backing of Michael Spencer on board plus Helium adding all leads me to be very positive on this one.

Long over due. I think a stock overhang has been cleared so a few purchases have now pushed up the price.

I like it when management put their own money in.
