MMS usual farcical way if determining the bid/offer - it’s all over the place!

Now they just need to sort out the percentage rise and mid price and put us properly on the leaders board might attract more buyers then

That's better now they have raised the bid

The 15m is enough to fund the company for the next 2 years. That’s explicit enough. If they were going into administration they wouldn’t/couldn’t have said that.

OK dont know the full picture but here was a "better than expected" thrown into the mix and online up by 24%.. So for a share price as low as 5p I think we're getting a bit of a bargain. But who knows what the market thinks. Looks good to me.

selected hi-light from update:

"
we have continued to operate our own websites in both the UK and USA, with sales up 24% over the last 15 weeks. In addition, we have continued to supply a number of the predominantly online wholesale customers during this period. Since the general reopening of stores we have seen a significant upturn in interactions with the majority of our other wholesale customers in the UK and Europe, who have now started to trade again. Over the lockdown period the collection of receivables from our supportive wholesale customers has been better than expected.
"

Sounds like the wholesale side has allowed them to get some cash flowing into the business (they are keeping quiet on numbers as it sort of is a trade secret)

Very few useful numbers in the announcement. It would be useful to know what their strategy now is on UK retail in the light of COVID and, for instance the benefit of no business rates for a year - it has made a big difference to the break even point in many smaller retailers.

Thanks Fund1 and bdbiometric. Both very useful as guides. Like Mr Greed and Mr Fear... Keeps us on the straight and narrow path.

So how NETNET is FCCN? The problem is am I using the right figures? Are there later values?

I have total liabilities: 49900.00
I have total current assets: 54400.00
I have market capitalisation: 4.93M

(a.total_current_assets-a.total_liabilities) / (b.market_capitalisation*1000) netnet = 0.9 of a NET NET (just .1 out).

NAV per share is insanely high (about 45p).....

So on face value FCCN is a bargain....
On face value Mr Warren Buffett would buy the entire company and sell all the bits for about 40p a share and give some massive insane dividend payment

If it drops anymore I could be tempted to get a few more probably would only risk another 100k shares though just for a punt l. If it drops below 5 I think I will

Could be? Do we know why we cant buy any for under 6p any more. The lowest I'm currently quoted is 6.2p Can still get reasonable sell price (5.2p).
Does that mean MMs a bit short of stock?

Does anyone know the percentage of French connections turnover that is in the booming home wear sector?
Does anyone know if competitors are picking up turnover from the troubled Boohoo etailer?

I bought some other week for a punt. Worth a gamble. Not for orphans and widows though.

Kingfisher reported today. Did really well on HOME WEAR. Share price went up at least 12%.

and of course the bad press BooHoo is getting is bound to help competitors like French Connection grab some extra sales...

Re: The above EVE beds trading statement re "STRONG HOMEWARES MARKET"....

You will note French Connections homeware also includes BEDDING:

NET NET? Current Assets 54M Total Liabilities 50M

NAV per share: in 2019 balance sheet 49p.... Current share price 6p (to buy)

Bought in this morning.
I was reading the trading update from EVE beds and this caught my eye:

"
May and June trading was ahead of the Board's
expectations and this momentum has continued into July, buoyed by a strong
homewares market
"

I think there might be significant mileage in French Connections "homewares market" too. With the lockdown millions of people are doing up their homes.....

Anyway, its trading at about NAV so its worth a risk.

Good luck all
Cheers NEt.

Is that trade Stephen Marks ex-wife,Nicole Farhi, offloading? Apparently he has good relations with her. Has he given her the heads up that he is going to screw every other shareholder other than himself?

1.985m share trade reported after the bell @ 5.25p. Given the hint of strength in the share price today, perhaps that cleared an overhang?
