Totally agree, for rights holders and their ability to control output, security and usage this a huge development

"That’s great I haven’t used the latest version did you have to pay for an account?"

I subscribed to a trial offered to existing shareholders a long while back, it came in a mailshot from the firm I think. Might be worth emailing to ask.

"Did anyone ask at the AGM if FBT had tried to sell the company to a major?"

Probably, either directly or indirectly I can remember which. But I remember the reply and it was IM's focus is on building the business

It should always refer back to the original source so deleting the source removes all other clips and copies of it.

One video file
If YouTube it could be thousands of new uploads so thousands of files scattered all over the place.

Saves on storage also!

Is Blackbird also the perfect social media Video Codec?
Very strong Argument that it is.

Maybe I should see if I can get a trial but I can’t justify paying since I don’t have our video business or freelance now to offset the cost.

Yes it’s impressive should not even be possible but they have done it!

Well just imagine if there was a social media platform specifically for video where all participants had to utilise the @blackbird player!

Now that would be a good idea! .....

GLA and IMHO

"Are you using Blackbird Ascent / Forte to edit and upload to a Blackbird account?"

Forte.

Industrial grade NLE that runs in a browser. A sight to behold.

Cool feature, good test!!

Am slightly confused re application of this feature... I thought it protected the 'rights holder' or source of the video not the public.

If I (not that I would) posted an inappropriate video (with@blackbird) it could not be taken down without my consent (ie password), right? Therefore how can YouTube (for example) delete the video (without the source video and password) and if they do/can stop continuous (one off) uploads of the original video?
Or am I being stupid?

If I made an edit in the player and posted that, or downloaded the video and then reposted it, would the ability to remove the video still work. Is there something in the coding of the video that links it back to the very original to still allow the copyright holder control of it?

SSB. Very impressive. This could be huge, especially with the pressure the big tech companies are under for deleting content, like the shootings in New Zealand, which by the way are still out there.

Well, rather the link no longer works- which is the same thing- which is good. Very impressive

Everybody knows that all of the social media sites have repeatedly said that the reason that they do not take down all of the content that is objectionable is that it is so dispersed it is impossible to do so. Whilst there may still be some content that evades Blackbird it looks like the vast majority can be deleted. There is now no reason for politicians to hold back in legislating to force them to take down content within hours and that means having to use Blackbird. In financial terms they pay the cost of using Blackbird or massively more in fines.
