24/7/2018 10:59 | chriscallen, In five years 4g will be everywhere.... _m_k IMHO, it's about marketing, the best solution doesn't always win. If we can crack e-sports based on excitement around 60fps let's do it but we need to move fast before Sony does it. | mcsean2164
24/7/2018 10:07 | The more video that arrives from the camera to the Cloud the better since it offers up sales opportunities to us for video editing. Sony cameras being able to directly stream to the Cloud is a good. To increase bandwidth on location there are devices available that can bond 4 or more 3G / 4G mobile phone channels together live news feeds often use this instead of a satellite truck which is expensive. Lots of solutions to get video to the Cloud for us to then edit. Frame accurate is essential in editing we can do that. | nickb
24/7/2018 09:24 | blackbird does frame accuracy baked into the codec, i'd have thought for users serious about video (pro or not) this would be a no-brainer. esports highlighted blackbird can do 60fps but i'd guess that's less of an ask for other codecs so confused why blackbird had an advantage on that basis (it was mentioned in recent communication though). | _m_k
24/7/2018 08:52 | One point that Sony makes is that it operates on 4G. How widely is that available other than in major cities and their hinterland? One of Blackbirds USPs is that it can operate where other systems cannot yet still produce high grade images. | chriscallen
23/7/2018 19:19 | Put simply More buffoonery!!!! | geheimnis2
23/7/2018 19:17 | Cabi No they can’t edit. Could be good for us Sony’s Cloud production system is hosted on Amazon AWS so once in the Cloud it should be easier for us to offer our services for additional capabilities. What it illustrates is more video work going to the Cloud it’s a revolution it’s the revolution that has been backed here by investors. We should be capitalising on this revolution but so far our new branding strategy has no general visibility despite the new money investors have given them. Hence we should be following that Sony PR with our own But hey I don’t understand marketing just seems obvious to me! | nickb
23/7/2018 18:39 | I just tweeted them that exact thing to ask if it was direct competition, fbt need to up their game or everyone else will catch up and they won't have a unique product. Even if Sonys product isn't quite the same I'm sure the masses would flock to a big name product rather than a superior product by a lesser company. | sickness
23/7/2018 18:17 | NickB. Is this direct competition for Blackbird? | cabi1
23/7/2018 17:42 | I guess that makes the BBC’s Expensive effort trying to make their own R&D version of what Sony has commercialised now redundant so more money wasted😮 Just an opinion BBC doesn’t waste money of course. | nickb
23/7/2018 17:38 | Interesting I got this from Sony this morning All in the Cloud! You can read about it here Stand out quote from the article for investors “How important is this? I genuinely think this is an inflection point in the history of TV production. It's real-time production in the cloud” Now come on Forbidden a follow up article on RedShark with what we can do in the Cloud would be great. | nickb
23/7/2018 14:07 | Another successful job completed at the golf open then. Potential customer look for this. | nickb
23/7/2018 13:41 | IM now you have mugged off all shareholders How about some deals? You know - the strategic opportunities. Best Bonio | bonio10000
23/7/2018 13:29 | exciting times.....yawn.... | geheimnis2
23/7/2018 11:56 | Congrats to @F_Molinari, Champion Golfer of the Year & 1st Italian to win #TheOpen . We were proud to support IMG for the 3rd year running - Blackbird published over 680 video clips from 6 hrs of edited video across social media, digital & broadcast throughout the week. | cabi1
20/7/2018 21:28 | They're going to Sydney, 9C there at the moment. I suppose they could use the opportunity to go North, damn they got us again. In fairness, it is nonsensical, fly to Australia for a trade show, what a bunch of tricksters, I wonder when the next fundraising is due.... I was in Sydney for New Year's Eve before, it was hot, hot, hot but Melbourne was actually a bit chilly in November. | mcsean2164
20/7/2018 19:23 | Winter in Queensland is like Europe summer. Go in summer and stuff melts. Not good stuff. | sideshowbull
20/7/2018 18:04 | Temperature in Cairns, Queensland, tomorrow will be up to 28C. Just pleasant for a trip out to the Great Barrier Reef. My cousin takes his Winnebago up to Queensland for the Winter. John | john of groats
20/7/2018 17:27 | Smart cookies. Wait till they discover it's winter in Australia!! Haha!ha! Share holders revenge! | mcsean2164
20/7/2018 15:57 | Given the Australian trip is in August, chances some staff use it as a free flight for their holidays and tag on a few weeks? | bonio10000
20/7/2018 12:35 | FBT Sales Team in Action! Looking good! | mcsean2164
20/7/2018 03:10 | Probably enough to cover the redundancy packages of the sales team they had to move on. | bonio10000
19/7/2018 23:26 | Most likely less than the cost of a new employee.... | mcsean2164
19/7/2018 18:53 | ...and from their viewpoint even if they were UK listed the contract may not be material i.e. it's important to FBT but wouldn't get even a passing mention in the Townnews Management Accounts. | chriscallen
19/7/2018 11:27 | Why would a partner rns? No London listing | nickb
18/7/2018 10:42 | Perhaps the Sports pilot came to nothing. FBT would not need to tell the market, am guessing, as no timescale was initially stated. IMHO Ps.. With regards the 'significant' contract win with a Townnews partner, no corresponding RNS from the partner as yet, odd that! | paulcon1 |
