15/11/2016 08:25 | When Delta Airlines was trading below $20 a share, billionaire Warren Buffett dismissed airlines as a place where his conglomerate Berkshire Hathaway would invest, stating at a May 2013 annual shareholder meeting the sector has “been a death trap for investors.” Now, with Delta trading at far higher prices, Berkshire Hathaway is buying the stock and its peers, American Airlines, United Continental Holdings and Southwest Airlines. Would someone kindly send Uncle Warren FLYBE's Sedol, ISIN, and Investment thesis please? | chevalierdaven

11/11/2016 09:14 | I don't think a takeover is particularly likely but if a company was interested now would be the time to strike while the company has no CEO and the share price is close to multi-year lows. The rationale would be that Flybe's sub-jet routes would fill a niche and add growth capacity with little overlap with an existing operation for a team who felt they could run the operation better. I'm not sure this would be the best thing for shareholders though. I'd rather have 3-4x return over the next 3 years as Flybe optimise their route network than 30% tomorrow and give the bulk of the potential upside to someone else. | dangersimpson2
10/11/2016 20:06 | deanroberthunt - why do you think that it's a takeover target now? I would hope that you are right and that the price is north of £1 (my average price!) but I don't see who would be interested in the present circumstances! | dahhad
