I always enjoy being surprised by a positive result, however one has to ask themselves... Can two weekends offset the overall negative EPS forecasts that the Analysts are estimating for an entire quarter for this Global Company
- Potentially revealing headwinds in their current operational efficiencies, unforeseen political issues/taxes, immediate costs of synergies between new acquisition partners etc.

The analysts could not foresee that the last two weekends of sports results are amongst the best in history. Across Europe football and the NFL a long string of long odds on teams have fallen down with eg New York already reporting 19pc hold ahead of average 9 for the previous weekend and this one was close to that also. It makes me wonder why the Analysts are forecasting a -0.47 EPS for Q3 (Nov 11th, before Open)
Perhaps they'll cover this next Wednesday(Sept 25th)
May be attributed to the recent acquisitions... unless I'm missing some huge mishap.
That said, the Q4 numbers are looking quite good with a 2.65(Q4'24). The highest Quarter estimates we've seen in the last 4 years. Overall, this year will be almost as good as 2020 in terms of return on investments with 2025 estimated to blow it out of the water. |
