01/5/2002 14:10 | rjmahan can`t see many replies to my request(above) so theres not a great deal of difference FBB or Pbb. | captain.
01/5/2002 14:04 | Man I hate the PBB - its so injust they get to leech our ideas while we cant use theirs.... | rjmahan
01/5/2002 13:49 | Only if you pay me £5 a month for a year :) | dontknowitall
01/5/2002 11:31 | For those of you who are on the PBB as well, there is a really excellent thread, . If you're not a PBB member, that thread is worth the price of admittance alone, IMHO. | zzaxx99
01/5/2002 10:56 | Fanta and Melfatg - MCTY has now broken the 330 barrier you both identified - I think much further to go.... P/E of 8 when most of the sector is being revised up from 10 to 15 I really do think 350 or 400 are possibilities... | rjmahan
01/5/2002 09:43 | I`d love to pick them chartists brains of yours regarding the indicators you find best on a 1/6 month basis what have you found the most successful settings for RSI,MACD also do you prefer to cross reference the overlays with their individual index or the Moving averages for index. Your advice most appreciated (competent investor but naff chartist) Thanks for any advice (and i mean any) | captain.
01/5/2002 08:42 | wholden, - imx, is ranging building a solid base from which, if successful, it would break out. or alternatively go down. - demg, faile to breake through decisively and now has gone below. there are a number of criteria by which a breakout is judge as to whether it is decisive or not such as percentage, time etc. another more reliable way is to wait for the stock to come down and see it rise again above the line of resistance before accepting its breakthrough. the saifer you play it the less is likely to be the upside for the investor. | melfaraj
01/5/2002 08:38 | I'm rarely long, but hasn't fully enjoyed the rallies of other in the sector yet. ape | theape
01/5/2002 03:32 | NUM,DEMG, ULE, btw fanta, what charts are you using and which web site? cheers wh | wholden
01/5/2002 00:55 | balto re QXL...you'd think it was starting to look like one on an ordinary chart but the log chart say's no.... F:-} | fanta
01/5/2002 00:54 | ulvr seems to be breaking out today above 610, within a long term (2yr)uptrend. last time went up 35% from 420 to 570. Wouldnt dream of trading it myself except to go short somewhere around 650 but longer term traders might be interested if it can close above 610... | slicedtomato
01/5/2002 00:47 | wholden...thanks good choices especially like OKR!...cey too short a chart though for me... rjmahan...not sure about this one, on a longer term chart it is in a trading range and this is the top....but I note the volume surge..it may fall back before trying to break 320-325p again...IMHO of course F:-} | fanta
01/5/2002 00:14 | OK back to the definite breakouts I think MCTY classifies - reaching new highs... | rjmahan
30/4/2002 19:29 | Someone have a look at plasmon (PLM) & IMX also | johnv
30/4/2002 19:20 | Thanks Fanta | balto
30/4/2002 19:14 | any thoughts on this one folks? I know it's been ramped all over the BB's but forming a very interesting bullish flag pattern bounded by the 150 and 200 dma's. Almost too perfect, even the volume is textbook... Watch out for a breakout on volume - would also be a break through the 200 dma | marting1
30/4/2002 18:36 | bvm, and it is a tmt stock too! | melfaraj
30/4/2002 14:11 | Melfaraj - I realis that the share isnt quite over a 52 week high but the speed of the recent rally and the fundamentals - P/E of 8 debt/equity ratio of 50% and the fact that it is in a sector (construction) that is undergoing a revaluation makes me think it will breakout | rjmahan
30/4/2002 13:51 | rjmahan, mcty is a very good choice. and on a shorter time scale it is certainly a breakout. however if you go back a year or slighly over you will find that the share had topped up at its present level. so, if the share is to break through its present level it would be a very decisive one indeed. i believe it would break through its present level. the rise in the price today under increased volume is a further indicator to this. | melfaraj
30/4/2002 02:35 | here is 4 stocks to mull over when u have some time, check out: FCCN AXN OKR CEY | wholden
29/4/2002 23:46 | don't mean to be flippant, but I am mostly cash. closed my few longs on PYM and LII today, still running SPA and WUN long, sold everything else, and upping shorts. a weird time ( sham I apologise if I have become weird and subscribed to the doomsayers, too much buffy no doubt) ape | theape
29/4/2002 22:11 | QXL; is it a valid break-out??? | balto |
