Great post Baz. Fresh, new, motivated, sales agents in dynamic & strategic markets. And our CEO as an ex-Honeyweller knows how significant these sales agents as part of the product to market distribution strategy can be. But also crucially he was at Honeywell when much outsourcing was (in my view wrongly) made to China - which means we WON‘T be doing that again any time soon!

This is from the most recent contract RNS, I'm not sure that I had properly taken on board the CEO's comment "due to be launched later this year". All appears to be very promising indeed and I wouldn't be too surprised to hear something fairly soon!!

Cheers!!

"The second contract with the same customer is a development agreement to accelerate the design and prototype delivery of an E-band module that would form part of the satellite payload and provide downlink connectivity to the E-band ground station. Subject to successful qualification testing and field trials this module will represent the first Filtronic product designed for space flight and is key part of our strategy to address the satellite element of the LEO space market.

Richard Gibbs, Chief Executive Officer, commented: "We are very pleased to continue our partnership with the leading global provider of LEO satellite broadband services, and proud of the way we have scaled our operations to supply production volumes of the Cerus32 SSPA module for their ground station network. The fact that the customer has also decided to fund Filtronic for their second-generation payload solution, due to be launched later this year, is a further testament to our credibility and expertise in RF design, and our ability to bring complex RF products to market for an aggressive launch schedule"."

Having BAE and Qinetic as named major clients is a huge vote of confidence. The level of due diligence they would have carried out tells us a lot. The contracts are getting bigger and bigger and it's only a matter of time before we get a trading materially ahead statement as the last Cavendish note left lots of scope for upgrades

They were recruiting quite a bit approx 18 months ago, so must have had confidence new work was in the pipeline at that point. On top of the new defence and space work they also have the microwave back haul products which seem to be doing well.Main advantage they have for defence work is that they have good manufacturing capability in UK and USA.

WC I first bought into Filtronic in the late 90's when they were a very different company and I've followed them since then. I know the company pretty well, but maybe what I'm not so familiar with is the sectors they now operate in. I suspect I'm not alone in this. Anyway, thanks for your wise advice, which I intend to ignore.

My view is that we’re only just getting started.

The small value development contract announced with the most recent results may well result in a chunky contract in the not too far distant future. The results mentioned that the Space related work was progressing very quickly, or words to that effect.

Good luck!!

Company has gone full circle , started out on defence and space work and has ended up back here about 40 years later.New management, that seem able to land contracts for profitable niche work.. big focus on defence spending, Ukraine war is throwing up new hardware that needs countermeasures or development. Positive outlook from my humble position..

Anyone got any thoughts on what the long term potential of Filtronic could realistically be? How many potential new customers are out there for such niche products that FTC offers? We've had a nice price rise on the promise of improved results next time, but I'm starting to wonder when would be the right time to cash in on this.
