Funny, those bigger holders didnt sell in to volume last year either, so the argument "they havent sold because they can't" doesn't hold water. However thanks for stopping buy mr buywell.

So to be clear, nobody wants to buy the stock, however the one's that do are the "bigger holders"

This is brilliant, I must try harder.

"Yes it is called averaging down
When nobody wants the stock ... sometimes bigger holders do it"

I've read some ridiculous statements on ADVFN over the years, but this takes the biscuit!

The vacancies on the website also give some reassurance. 9 or so in UK and 3 in the USA. Some of them likely to be multiple cacancies. An imperfect measure but they do seem to keep it up to date

The enigmatic statements given out by Filtronic don't help much but it would be a mistake to assess this company using charts. Filtronic is a specialist designer of highly complex components. Their main assets are their design engineers so to sell off the antenna business would be to lose designers. They can't afford to do that if they want to survive. I suggest that the main reason to have confidence is the resilience of the major shareholders who will know what the prospects are for success. I doubt if Mrs Dixon would stay invested if she didn't believe that Filtronics would rise from the ashes

Another small buy from me.I'm happy to buy down here whilst others are fearful or negative.I still feel the company has a good future, nothing I've heard says otherwise. Happy to ride the rollercoaster north again when it happens, or take the hit if that is what happens.

You seem to feel you have a sway on peoples investments buywell. I'd argue that is very unlikely to be the case, especially as all you did was review the last RNS which everyone is aware of!

As per your WPCT posts and other chartists that have roam the boards, your posts can roughly translate to "If if breaks this then it will go to this" or It will go up, however it could go down". In this sense, yes you are often correct. No real measure of success though eh?

We are all awaiting the board review, until then everything is just speculation. The underlying business is ticking along nicely however the unknowns in the last announcement is obviously weighing on the price.

Best wishes to all.

I see that the potential performance problems regarding antennas and the associated repair and warranty costs along with any possible claims that IMO might arise if clients using such defective antennas have lost clients as a result.

These issues outlined in my previous post might now be sinking in with the more switched on among you guys.

Chartwise I omitted to say buywell has a 4.8p call on this

I wouldn't expect them to sell the antenna business it wouldn't leave them with very much prospect for future growth. We should know one way or another fairly soon

I wonder whether antennas side of the business will be sold?

"As per the announcement of the half-year results on 29 January 2019, the Board of Filtronic has conducted a strategic review of its telecoms antennas activities and is making progress towards finalising its preferred option. Further announcements will be made in due course."

As I thought re WPCT

First the BIG picture and it is NOT pretty

I take from this a few pointers regarding this share

1. It has on 3 occasions dropped more than 50% in the space of 2 months

2. Over 5 years it has been a poor investment

3. The share is in current 'Down Trend' mode

The high hit in march 2019 was not beaten recently in june which was bad chartwise

On the positive side

1. Anyone buying in the second half of 2018 might have had a wild ride to 30p which just chartwise briefly beat the previous 29p highs years before.

2. However if anyone held till now they must be kicking themselves and in a bad mood IMO.

Conclusions

Purely based upon the chart shape and numbers hit:

a) Whilst the rise in 2018 beat previous highs , the fall back has NOT YET reached or exceeded previous chart lows of less than 5p ie the down trend continues.

b) Because of past SP's hit , there are most probably some olde stale bulls around from the glory days. It happens and it is natural , but 'never fall in love with a share' is my credo.

c) Recently following the update the issue of the cost of repairs due to poor performance issues and the warranty of those antenna products needs clarification and resolution by the company ASAP as it is clearly weighing on market sentiment.

And rightly so IMO because the NUMBERS of units have not yet been published or the exact nature of the 'performance issue' ---- which could for example mean '' stopped working''.

Repair at zero cost to the client might mean extension of a complete new warranty IF the client excepts such an offer.

Some clients might insist on a completely new unit with a new guarantee (warranty) at zero cost.

Some clients might have suffered themselves financially and thus be after costs from Filtronic, for example they might have lost business themselves in the form of customers leaving because of poor performance issues.

These costs could be much bigger than anyone posting has probably imagined.

So big IMO as to wipe out all profits perhaps for a year.

IF a BIG operator ( Billions Mkt Cap) has suffered in any major way regarding loss of customers ---- and IF legally this was decided in a court of law that it was the fault of Filtronic equipment which was under warranty at the time of the 'poor performance' issue :

Who knows just how big such a claim might be ?

Belatedly I thank you for this last post, which I just read after I posted this one
