I believe the issue on mMIMO in the US related to the frequency band-the spectrum. This is an expensive component of the telecoms business and existing facilities operate on different spectrums to FTC mMIMO bands in the US. The issue on the Nokia statement today is whether the mMIMO frequency band is what FTC produces...if so ..promising!

Good posts :)

I think I may well increase, as you say something is up and indeed at £14m MC it either goes up in a straight line with 5G success or goes to zero. Flip of a coin, but they are hiring for a reason...

Dont forget this

hxxps://www.bworldonline.com/quintel-tapped-as-us-distributor-of-filtronic/

A SUBSIDIARY of Cirtek Holdings Philippines Corp. (CHPC) has been tapped by London-based electronics manufacturer Filtronic PLC for the distribution of certain antenna products in North America.

In a disclosure to the stock exchange on Monday, CHPC said its wholly-owned unit Quintel USA, Inc. has been appointed by Filtronic as the exclusive distributor in North America of antenna products to some mobile network operators.

“This distribution agreement is an excellent opportunity for Filtronic to gain greater traction in the US market. We are delighted to be working with Quintel and we believe that we complement each other very well,” CHPC quoted Filtronic Chief Executive Officer Robert Smith as saying in a statement.

US-based firm Quintel was acquired by CHPC in July 2017, as part of efforts to expand its footprint in the antenna market. The company looks to grow Quintel into a $500-million revenue firm, after which they target to list the company in the Nasdaq Stock Market.

Aside from a distribution agreement, the two firms also signed a memorandum of understanding where they can identify areas of cooperation ranging from product co-development to manufacturing.

Filtronic designs and manufactures advanced radio frequency communications products, which are supplied to leading original equipment manufacturers in the mobile telecommunications infrastructure and critical communications markets.

CHPC noted that Filtronic’s antenna products are complementary to Quintel, with very minimal overlaps in the product lineup.

The products covered by the deal include Quasi-Omni and Panel antennas which are specifically produced for the US market. Other products are for 4G/LTE and 5G Evolution applications for frequency ranges between 600 megahertz and 6 gigahertz.

“The cooperation will augur well for both groups due to clear symbiotic business objectives as Filtronic can leverage on Quintel’s extensive organic sales force supported by a strong sales representative organization covering entire US markets for the distribution of its products,” CHPC Vice Chairman and President Roberto Juanchito T. Dispo said in a statement.

Mr. Dispo also noted that there is a “strong potential” to further elevate their partnership to a “higher level of business collaboration in the future.”

I’ve been in and out of FTC for years & years. Won some & lost others but never had the discipline to figure out where I am overall....!

Hope you get your money back and a bucket load more!

I understand the tender process is FTC acquiring an Epoxy Dispenser.....!

It’s all as clear as mud but they have been developing new end customers and appointed distributors in the USA quite recently too.

Another couple of weeks and we will hopefully have a positive update!

I think you'll agree the position is very unclear.

Then there is also the tender process and the substantial vacancies advertised. Things are afoot but what?

And from the January announcement, we have: (this does sound a little more promising. A couple of days later one of the Directors bought 750,000 shares)

The news received in December from our mMIMO launch client that the end-customer was putting its roll- out programme on hold and thus significantly reducing its forecast demand until further notice, was a significant set-back to our growth plans. However, our client has confirmed that the programme is not cancelled and they will continue to sell and market our mMIMO products into the market. Notwithstanding this setback, we believe the outlook for the antenna market remains positive, with continued industry investment in network developments for 4G densification and 5G roll-outs.
Subsequent to the December notice we have received a follow-on order for the balancing requirement of mMIMO for H2 which underpins our confidence in the sales outlook for the remainder of the year and this, combined with our solid platform of long-term business within critical communications, means we expect trading in H2 to be broadly similar to H1.
We require a little time to fully evaluate the ongoing status of the mMIMO programme, bring the new distribution arrangement up to speed and complete a review of our options for the antenna business but, in the meantime, we are comfortable with our current cash position and cash flow outlook.

From the RNS of last December:

Our predominant OEM customer, with whom we had closely collaborated in the development of this product range, has now significantly lowered its forecast demand below that which it had previously provided, having itself been advised that its lead client is now looking to deploy different frequencies to those it had originally indicated. As a consequence of this lower demand and the uncertainty it brings, the Board has decided to impair fully the net book value of the capitalised development costs of £0.5m relating to the development of mMIMO in its half year results. The Company has made considerable efforts to diversify its customer base in recent years and despite this obvious set back to our mMIMO antennas business, we are pleased to advise that we were recently approved as a supplier of a niche antenna product to a Tier 1 Mobile Network Operator in South Africa. However, given the importance of mMIMO to our future plans in the antenna business, the Board has commenced a review of its options for this component of the Group.
