Agreed. This will the 4th attempt, since start of 2016. A break beyond 14p could be quite powerful. Just bought some more in readiness.

"Filtronic looking to future with greater confidence amid contract and jobs boost

A COUNTY Durham technology firm is expanding its global presence with work alongside a US customer, The Northern Echo can reveal.

Filtronic is overseeing a wireless broadband product, which is expected to be in operation next year.

The Echo can also confirm the business, based at NetPark, in Sedgefield, plans to create a number of jobs over the coming 12 months.

Bosses say its US agreement aims to improve broadband provision by providing fast and reliable data connections without the disruption and cost of laying swathes of cabling underneath roads and footpaths.

They also said it could be a catalyst for further growth, with its customer having the potential to carry out geographical expansion.

Rob Smith, chief executive, said the arrangement was another fillip for Filtronic, which already has a multi-million pound national security deal focused on supplying high-frequency modules for aerospace work in its order book.

He said: “The broadband work is kicking off now and development is going on.

“It will be at one location but there is potential to grow, and deployment is expected to be in about a years’ time.”

The agreement provides fresh delight for Filtronic, which is known for the Orpheus e-band transceiver, which increases the amount and quality of data that networks, including the telecoms sector, can carry.

It also comes after latest financial results showed the firm expects to more than double annual group revenue to £35.4m and report an operating profit of around £1.7m after strong progress across its entire operations.

Mr Smith said the company was gaining confidence, despite operating in an environment, particularly telecoms, which can have its unpredictable moments.

He also confirmed plans to take its existing 66-strong Sedgefield workforce to 75.

He added: “The challenge is that every month we start from zero but we have got some really exciting opportunities and are excited about the new chapters with e-band.

“We are competing on a world stage and most of our customers are international.

“The excitement levels are high and most people find it a fulfilling place to work.

"Another ten people in the next 12 months is not out of the question.” "

I've added further this morning. I see this on the verge of a significant chart breakout - if we get beyond 14p, and have the positive newsflow we all expect. You can see where the broker target of 29p comes from:

Photon,It could easily be that, what pleasing as well is the three late trades that have just shown which I think are trades from yesterday. Roll on that next RNS, any overhang must be getting close to being exhausted. Let's hope we break 14p soon.

The large late reported sell trade from yesterday (assuming it's from yesterday) is interesting as it is a very specific number of shares - 610,151If that is Aberforth then that could be taking them to a particular level.Surely about time we got a holding in company RNS to clarify the current position.

Techinvest have raised their recommendation from Strong Hold to BUY. Panmure fcst this year 1.2p followed by 1.4p dropping p/e to single digit for 2019.

So long as the management are able to confirm that they have good visibility for growth next year in their statement in the results then we should move into a new trading range. Rivaldo I totally agree with your comment from sharewatch, my conclusion is that they are impressed with the recovery here and want to get investors in on the early stages of this recovery, given the house broker has a price target of 29p, a massive increase from the current price. I have a feeling that there may only be one broker currently doing any research on them. If this recovery continues and a couple more brokers come on board then we could really motor. GLA and roll on the results in August.

Decent volume day, nice 325k share buy reported late in the day. Chart building nicely. Our friends Aberforth likely to be getting close to 3%. Build to results and chart breakout (finally) in the offing. Rerate to a fair mid-20s price looks achievable this year IMHO.
