I think a market cap of £800m was very hard to justify. I was sad to sell as I think this is a fantastically clever business, with top drawer products and in a currently niche market. Competition will arrive. Good old Schweppes could launch a premium range and the cost even with exotic marketing, would surely be way less than £500m

I strongly suspect I will be back!

In the meantime good luck everybody ............. It's almost G and T time!!

A

Apad, Get yourself some Millers Gin, FeverTree, and big wedge of Lemon and all your problems are solved. (except you'll be hooked)

Fall is just a few taking profits, had a good run from the sub 500 level it hit breifly last month. Numbers can't be far off now, it's a case of how much higher. And the rate i see Fevertree disappearing off the shelves in Waitrose, bar fridges stocked to the hilt then how much is anyones guess. As this is a grwoth stock PE doesn't bother me at this stage, let's see what it is after results and re-think then.

It's just following the market. I've a number of shares which have had a shocking afternoon. Need a gin and naturally light FT to soothe the wounds!

...but the number of recorded buys and sells are not large?

So far, my favourite is the posh Tanqueray gin, cfro. But I have three more to test, including a Welsh gin!

Wish I had ideas; but given the huge rise and the general market volatility, plus the recent reducing by Blackrock - and the amount of bot selling making me think someone is reducing further - decided to take some profits. Rightly or wrongly.

I was a late arriver (5.50s) and don't want to be underwater.

Difficult to know of course but big recent gainers quite often get sold-off when there's a general market move down whatever the fundamentals.
Taking/protecting quick profits is the possible motive... along with feverish shaking of trees....

I've been looking at the institutional holdings and there seems to be some extra shares on the market from Blackrock. Could this be the source of the fall in price? I must admit to finding it difficult to divine the reason for this one and the bigger fall in mid Jan.
Any ideas?

GENISES I am holding, I was pointing out that others were possibly selling here to day trade oil, hence the dip around lunchtime, when there was some positive oil news... just to clarify.

I suggest you hold onto your shares.
The stock flew off the shelves over Christmas and I would say the competition would be rather worried at the market share its taking.

Tempted myself Sogoesit, but I Have most my money invested, so I am gonna hold out for Countryside's IPO, otherwise I would top up here too.

I wonder if that pullback today was down to the opportunity to make a fast buck on the oil companies today like Tullow and Genel that hiked around the time FEVR dropped... sell here, do a bit of trading?

@andrewhbruce

IMO we are looking at another share price hike come results in March, with a possible dip beforehand.

FTSE 100/250 should be up tomorrow, oil has bounced again. I am holding till results then making a decision - given how FEVR rose today in the face of the market falling.

andrew....
I sold ARM at about 250p 'cos it had doubled very quickly, a few months if I remember correctly.
Lesson learned?
You cannot value these sorts of situations using equilibrium metrics, it's a matter of judgement on the groundbreaking nature of the company/product.
Good luck.

I also learned not to make the same mistake again:-)

The way forward?
The share price is rising; can you call a top?
If yes, sell; if no, wait or buy.

On the other hand, Blackrock reduced their holding on 25 January.
Is that an implied recommendation to buy or sell given fund managers' performance and their underlying strategies?

Growth has accelerated from about 60% to over 75% apparently.
What is the reasonable P/E on forecast earnings, 75?
If so, at 10p/sh forecast eps that makes 750p reasonable value.
(Imagine what a major distributor could do with brand potential like that).

On that basis I would buy your shares if you wanted to sell them.
(Well, I accumulated on monday at 660).

Is that any help :-)?

PS What's the buy-out premium?

How much did coke pay for its Innocent?

'When Innocent first launched in the orange juice sector, the juice only reached a turnover of £4m in its second year, resulting in it being delisted by the supermarkets.
However, when Innocent relaunched orange juice three years later in a carafe-shaped bottle, rather than a carton design, the product reached a turnover of £80m in its second year.
This success came despite no change to the juice, price, distribution or brand.
"The only thing we did differently was put it in a plastic bottle – we called it a carafe to make it sound posh – the little details matter," says Reed.'

You're probably right, sogoesit. But I need to stay on the sidelines, unfortunately. For now, anyway. Great product. GL.
