17/12/2018 08:12 | "What exactly has Fevertree got ?A concept, some distribution and a brand. Its not a product that can't be copied and, judging by the price, could easily be undercut."You can say that about a lot of very successful companies an products. And if what you say was true then no one would buy an iPhone, Coca Cola, Monster Bevs. They have products that can be easily be copied (and have been multiple times). Yet they have done OK haven't they? Why do you buy a coke over Tesco's own brand? Because it tastes better. It's the same for Fever Tree mixers. First and foremost they taste better because they use better ingredients. Then there's the brand and distribution and bottling processesTo underpin the base product. There will always be people who 'don't' they it' but that's the same with every product. Thankfully for us investors, more people have, and will continue to 'get it' | villarich
16/12/2018 22:24 | bargainbob What do you ean 6 more cans ? Schweppes does a 6 pack and FT an 8 pack. | yf23_1
16/12/2018 20:57 | Schweppes are fighting a losing war. In Tesco, a top seller | christh
16/12/2018 20:40 | Waitrose Schweppes v Fever Tree across the aisle . The war is on , Schweppes a pound cheaper and 6 more cans, updated packaging . Schweppes want to go head to head . | bargainbob
16/12/2018 20:29 | I tried the Schweppes 1783 and I got a much clearer taste of the orange in the Tanqueray Sevilla. Slightly sweeter too (8.9 vs 7.1). To be fair, it might be that the Fevertree goes better with unflavoured gin but then again you would expect a non-aromatic tonic to let the true flavour of the gin out, not to mask it with other flavourings. | yf23_1
15/12/2018 18:47 | As has been said a dozen times, the future for Fevertree is how they progress (or not)in the US. Their sales in the UK will inevitably level off as the market matures, but if successful, Fevertree will become the tonic of choice-not necessarily perceived as a premium product any more. | wetdream
15/12/2018 17:36 | yf23_1 15 Dec '18 - 16:47 - 4698 of 4698 What is it with you ? Anyone who has a different opinion, (even backed up by evidence), must be a shorter. Are you under some sort of paranoid delusion ? Did I critisize you? You said you are running a shop!!!!!! When I said selling I meant your drinks, your wine, your cider! Do not jump in the wrong conclusion. | christh
15/12/2018 16:47 | What is it with you ? Anyone who has a different opinion, (even backed up by evidence), must be a shorter. Are you under some sort of paranoid delusion ? I have just bought the Tanquery Seville gin and it tastes great by itself. However, with the FT tonic I did not have an enhanced experience. Actually I disliked it and felt it was too bubbly and masked the flavour. I will try it with some Schweppes 1783 tonight. If that doesn't work it'll be back to the cheaper stuff. I am not biased,I came to this thread considering buying FT but I have pretty much convinced myself against that, even at the lower price. That's because I study whats going on, not because I'm under some sort of delusion. Now whats the betting christh comes up with multiple posts soon after in the faint hope that noone will read it ? (That's a rhetorical question by the way). | yf23_1
15/12/2018 16:15 | well done, keep selling and if you feel it have a gin with the mandarin tonic. | christh
15/12/2018 15:56 | Thats because carrots are 29p ! I fill the BWS shelves and only 8 of the 8 can packs had gone by 14:30. 6 of them were the aromatic which could be drunk wih a non-aromatic gin (cheaper). | yf23_1
15/12/2018 14:20 | yf23_1 15 Dec '18 - 11:17 - 4692 of 4694 Like I said, they paid the supermarket for the shelfspace and the bays are full, which implies they may not be selling so good and they have reduced the price. Go round and check it out and see how much are sold. The guy with the trolley has been going round filling up the shelves on an hourly basis. | christh
15/12/2018 14:10 | yf23_1 14 Dec '18 - 19:14 - 4685 of 4693 Tesco 25% off 6 wines above £4.35 and all my customers going for the cheap ones. change your customers or relocate yourself to get better customers! In our Tesco everything is selling from carrots to brussel sprouts all cleared! | christh
15/12/2018 11:17 | Like I said, they paid the supermarket for the shelfspace and the bays are full, which implies they may not be selling so good and they have reduced the price. | yf23_1
15/12/2018 10:33 | Really impressive and attractive full bay selection in my local supermarket. I would say they have far more space than any other single brand. More than coca cola, cadbury, heineken etc etc. Clearly very popular and selling very well | 5chipper
15/12/2018 10:12 | Just like Coke? | juzzer100
15/12/2018 04:47 | Spot on.A bit of belt tightening and nobody is paying for premium mixers. | bonio10000
14/12/2018 23:51 | The Emporer has no clothes. This supposedly premium taste is just a figment of people's imagination, brought on by media hype. What exactly has Fevertree got ? A concept, some distribution and a brand. Its not a product that can't be copied and, judging by the price, could easily be undercut. Why is it ironic about the Tesco wines - because its not about the taste, its about the price. I think you'll find there's a limit to the people who'll pay 10 times the price for what is just a sugary solution of lemon juice and quinine. | yf23_1
14/12/2018 19:22 | I don't know if it's just me but I have absolutely no idea what you're on about or what your point is. | villarich
14/12/2018 19:14 | Tesco 25% off 6 wines above £4.35 and all my customers going for the cheap ones. Oh we like that one, its all in the taste init ? How ironic. | yf23_1
14/12/2018 17:38 | And that! :-) | skinny
14/12/2018 17:35 | Please tell me that is a rhetorical question! | jarega85 |
