The Company has continued to trade strongly since it announced its half-year results on 3 August, and its cash flows have further reduced net debt and funded capital expenditure. Together with the strong demand outlook for pellets in 2018, this has given the Board confidence to declare this dividend. (from last rns 7/12)

Remember that FXPO produce high quality iron ore pellets and then read this.

Looks like the current rise is solely due to dividend and leading up to divi eligibility date, given the further drops in iron ore price index.
Probably should have seen that coming and taken advantage of this pretty standard phenomenon - then sold just before it drops back after divi date.
May be wrong but can't see any other reason for being back up in the 260's.

Together with the strong demand outlook for pellets in 2018, this has given the Board confidence to declare this dividend.
The special dividend will be paid on 15 January 2018 to shareholders on the register at the close of business on 15 December 2017. The ex-dividend date will be 14 December 2017. The dividend will be paid in UK Pounds Sterling, with an election to receive in US Dollars

Yes Bel....just hoping for a quick 20p or so for now. With ore prices still buoyant it looks like a risk worth taking.

well grechen, I wish you good luck. Could see a nice 10p or even 20p rise from here or it could slip back even further - I admit I have no idea where this is heading and I'd be guessing up or down - gut feel is back up from here.
I won't be jumping back in only because I'd have to sell something else to buy back in.

Certainly seems to be building a head of steam on a backwards trend.
Maybe best to leave the stock market until next year - looks too volatile in mining - my record on trading not too good - better when I leave well alone.

Well Scoble, 242p to buy - did you go ahead and buy at 245p?
I see that iron ore still holding up well - up over $70 - gone are the days when fxpo used to closely follow the rise and fall of iron ore pricing index.
But generally, lots of red across my actual portfolio as well as my virtual portfolio - been the same trend last few weeks.

But I'm tempted to buy some too at these prices.

Looking like it is right on its 200 day moving ave. If we break down then could be a drop towards 220p.....harva, a break up through 280 will see us back over 300.....All subjust to neutral fundamentals, and of course any positive fundamentals will work magic I was in the ride from 50p upto 300 where I sold my last lot. Waiting with interest here and on boohoo to see where my next entry will be.Gla

I think the share price fall is on the back of poor sentiment for Iron Ore through 2018.
