11/6/2023 13:16 | Been going over my watch list, and checking over some BB comments and low and behold, rivaldo elsewhere has posted this up:"I'll be happy to sell all my shares if I see SDI as too expensive, as I've done recently at CLX, ADF and AVCT."Yet next door when he sold up he posted: "I continue to believe that ADF are a good company and probably very cheap on fundamentals."mmmmm... | disc0dave45
11/6/2023 12:09 | Just been reviewing the sale of shares by the "founders". It's raised more issues IMO with regards to the information this business pumps out.- the sale of 5.5% of shares by the founders (controlling shareholders) was allegedly due to II demand, yeah right, so why has only 0.27% been bought by a II?.- The founders were restricted from selling any shares for 18 months following admission to AIM, they clearly couldn't wait a day longer to offload on 5th May!.- Strangely according to their admission document the "founders" and the relevant restriction period applied to their 36,712,000 shares, yet the 5th May RNS detailing their sale of 4,200,000 shares then stated following this sale that their holding would be 31,112,000.....errr what happened to the other 1.4 million shares? Perhaps others next door have a view and a valid reason for what I think is a major discrepancy.Be interesting to see on the 5th November if the "founders" dump even more shares!, my guess is they will. | disc0dave45

10/6/2023 16:56 | I can't speak on behalf of the directors reasons to sell last month but they only collectively disposed of 12% of their holding (4.2m) and still retain a 39% stake in the company (31.1m). They sold @53p and the closing Bid yesterday was 56p so I don't see any particular significance in those transactions. | masurenguy
10/6/2023 15:56 | masure does the issue highlighted by rivaldo about diretors selling to make room for intitutional investors still hold? | ali47fish

10/6/2023 13:21 | No end to the writers guild dispute, now 39 days into strike action which is gaining support worldwide........IMO the support is likely to spread throughout the industry the longer it goes on, all of which will hit productions significantly.Https: | disc0dave45
10/6/2023 08:23 | Broker Cenkos is forecasting an eps of 7.6p this year and 9.6p next year. This puts ADF on a current year PER of only circa 7.4 and a forward PER of just 5.9. Looking great value at the current price. | masurenguy
11/5/2023 10:57 | Disney streaming service lost 4 million subscribers in Q1 and it's still not making a profit. | disc0dave45
06/5/2023 11:37 | Pity they didn’t clarify what they meant by a “strong” order book, any further work will be impacted significantly by the WGA strike as WGGB are supporting the WGA in their action. The WGGB response reads: “If your contract was made under U.K. law and you were already under contract at the time the strike was called, you should continue to work normally and comply with the terms of your contract. Pre-existing work in the U.K. is not considered struck work by the WGA.” The WGGB has also updated its definition of what constitutes a “struck” company as such: “Streaming companies such as Netflix, Disney, Amazon, Apple are all considered to be struck companies in the U.S. Before taking new work with any of these companies or any U.K. company allied to a U.S. company, you should contact the WGGB for advice.” | disc0dave45
06/5/2023 01:07 | Investors snap up a bargain with Videndum despite writers’ strike Analysts at Jefferies advised clients to hold fire on binning their shares in Videndum, despite the FTSE 250 firm being forced to issue a stinging profit warning this week. The company, which designs and manufactures products such as camera and audio equipment and live-streaming kits for customers including broadcasters, film studios and photographers, told investors that if a strike by the Writers Guild of America, which was called on Tuesday, were to be “prolonged&rdq | masurenguy

05/5/2023 07:40 | Biggish volumes went through at 53p. The "in response to institutional investor demand" comment should maybe be compared to that price IMHO. Not exactly biting off arms to buy them at market price.... | eezymunny

04/5/2023 13:00 | Hi Rivaldo I was looking back at ADF this morning and set myself a low/mid 50s target entry point in order to meet the risk/reward balance which I want (I tend to hold a very concentrated PF). It sounds like an aggressive entry point so relaxed on whether it gets met. Your point about the writers strike is one which I hadnt factored in, and I'm not sure how to price that. Is it a 2024/5 impact though rather than 2023 given that presumably ADF are supporting things being filmed today which were written [6 / 12 / 24] months ago? No idea what that lag is... 04/5/2023 12:54 | I see someone next door is selling up because of the WG strike, go figure!.Suspect all the ramping followers will do likewise. | disc0dave45
04/5/2023 12:04 | I continue to believe that ADF are a good company and probably very cheap on fundamentals. However, I'm always open minded, and I believe the recently launched US writers' strike could do quite a degree of damage to productions in the UK. The last such strike (a long time ago!) continued for some time, and I remember British writers, directors etc being extremely supportive of their American brethren and causing a lot of difficulty over here. Given my caution I've been selling (with some difficulty!) what was a decent holding here since my last post in a number of chunks to protect a small overall profit, with the last sales first thing this morning. This has dropped the share price somewhat, so apologies. There's an article here about how UK productions may or may not be affected. Maybe I'm being over-cautious - H1 results should still be at worst decent as the period is already two-thirds through - but it's often better to be safe than sorry, especially where I have a reasonably sized holding: | rivaldo
03/5/2023 12:08 | The US Writers Guild strike is now supported by the Writers Guild of GB who are advising their members not to work on any US productions.Stating the obvious but if it's a prolonged strike, as looks like it could be, then this will hit UK productions. | disc0dave45
03/5/2023 09:11 | In addition to the proposed final dividend to be put to shareholders for approval at the 2023 AGM, and following the FY22 year end, the Directors have become aware of two technical breaches of the Companies Act 2006 in respect of the interim dividend of 0.46 pence per ordinary share historically paid by the Company in October 2022. Accordingly, a resolution will be proposed at the 2023 AGM to resolve this issue. sloppy | middlesboroughfc

02/5/2023 11:51 | So loads more pretty pointless commentary on P/E, EPS, PAT, op cash flow then? Missing the point entirely. Which just shows why you'll never make any serious money following broker notes. Mostly written by junior thickos IMO. Re-posting them on BB's for thicko novice PI's to get lured in is bad for humanity IMO. | eezymunny |
