02/4/2019 14:50 | Phowdo, this column also goes on to say that lower sales are due to early adopters of VR awaiting the next generation of headsets. This in essence means the Go which is all that concerns Melody but which didn't even launch until a third of the way through the year. Since then it's a fair bet it's taken the lion's share of VR sales. Why wouldn't it? Apart from anything else it's less than half the price of any of the old tech, which is where the drop is likely to have happened. | birtwhistle
02/4/2019 11:39 | ...take it your positive then..... its not that they aren't growing any more it is just that they are taking longer than expected to take off. That's the way I see it. No guarantees in this business. | hazl
02/4/2019 11:16 | Gaming and porn are seen as the 2 main growth pillars of VR. If they arent growing anymore then it doesn't bode well for VR concerts. It does perhaps explain why the directors chose to cash in millions at 16p/share and why the shareprice has struggled since. | phowdo
02/4/2019 11:09 | VR gaming having a tough time. "virtual reality has had a tougher time - with sales down 20% since 2017." | phowdo
01/4/2019 15:14 | Seems people on Twitter expecting news around this month nearer the end. IMO | hazl
01/4/2019 15:06 | 500 dollars for oculus quest. A bit pricey for a mainstream audience. And that's what EVRH need. They'll never make money dependent on geeks buying concerts. It is a tiny fraction of the millions who buy music unfortunately. | backtogo

01/4/2019 09:45 | 'Following a sold-out comeback tour, the Streets played a run of shows at the O2 Brixton Academy (4,921) in London. The Birmingham band’s frontman Mike Skinner describes the Brixton gig captured on VR as “an absolute mazza”. “You can even follow me jumping into the crowd and see the panic on my tour manager’s face,” says Skinner. Fans of country singer Thomas Rhett can experience his performance at the 18,900-capacity Honda Centre in Anaheim, California, from the artist’s point of view. “It’s amazing being able to experience the show from this perspective,” comments Rhett. Drum and bass group Rudimental’s show at Alexandra Palace in London (10,400) is also available on the VR platform, along with a line-up of guests including John Newman, Tom Walker, Jess Glynne and Anne Marie. “There are a lot of things that excite us about VR,” says Rudimental. “If you are just standing in the crowd you might miss things, but if you are watching in VR you get to see so much more.” | hazl
31/3/2019 22:37 | I do agree that the general VR market has been slow to take off. That doesn't mean that this company is not doing the right thing but that the sector as a whole is not performing yet as hoped. Sentiment can change. If the management is good they will survive. If not then you might be right. I am prepared to wait and see but l do see signs of progress in other influential institutions so l believe the industry will have a future . We will see. | hazl |
