Norway raises concern about Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine safety after 29 deaths
18 January 2021 (Last Updated January 18th, 2021 12:06)

Norway has raised concerns about Pfizer’s Covid-19 vaccine safety after 29 elderly people with serious underlying health conditions have died after receiving the shot.

Single Covid vaccine dose in Israel 'less effective than we thought'

Surge in infections dampens optimism over country’s advanced immunisation programme

Israel’s coronavirus tsar has warned that a single dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine may be providing less protection than originally hoped, as the country reported a record 10,000 new Covid infections on Monday.

In remarks reported by Army Radio, Nachman Ash said a single dose appeared “less effective than we had thought”, and also lower than Pfizer had suggested.

By contrast, those who had received their second dose of the Pfizer vaccine had a six- to 12-fold increase in antibodies, according to data released by Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer on Monday.

The issue i think is a post of mine last week with the lack of proper large institutional holders moping up stock from weak retail. Since the Woodford farce these small biotechs have issues when it comes to liquidity and low market caps. This draws them away and I feel you'd see more buyers at 50p than you would 10p, obviously this will fingers cross happen on decent news but then I don't want EVG raising money diluting us and missing more upside. Then again you need these institutions for capital unless EVG can announce a lucrative JV etc etc.

Its all looking rather sick again excuse the pun.
Im hoping Juvenescence will start their payment by the end of the year otherwise we are either looking at some kind of loan to tide us over or sorry to bring it up again, another share placing.
We can't get the momentum going on these hence the regular false dawns.
Need the CEO to announce this cancer news he was really excited about, hopefully that could bring in a joint collaboration with a big phamra which will finally add a bottom to these shares.

The price action has been terrible for ages though Nobby. I think I must have revisited the company RNS's, interviews and other such marketing materials more than any other holding I have! I keep thinking I must be missing something significant which explains a market cap lower than 30M - for just where we are right now. I think that is perhaps fairly conservative too.
Plenty of optimism (founded or otherwise) on at least half a dozen other company boards where the share price has taken off on nothing more than hot air or similarly solid announcements to ours.
More sustained PR in the form of proactive interviews, articles and conferences maybe? Some meaty insider buying when the window of opportunity allows certainly cannot hurt, as I keep saying. Other than that? No idea, apart from the obvious one of actual successes.
Without wanting to open a can of worms here (!!) I am trying to remember my thoughts at the time SNG was in the low single figure pennies and completely unloved by the market. Whatever happens in future over there, we all know what did happen in short order last year. It was a very long time coming too for LTH's; I am just hoping the wait will not be quite as long here.

Truly depressing price action today. I really think over exuberant BB speculation is the cause of this. People are disappointed that only 56 patients have been recruited because of BB comment the trial would be finished before the end of March which never ever was going to be possible. It's such a shame because actually they are doing quite well so far.

I think this must be the most frustrating share I have ever owned. I continue to be amazed at how so many other small caps are multi bagging on little more, and in some cases indeed, on less progress than we have made to date.
Oh well, rant over and GLA.

As Harry Redknapp might say: 'Lads, lads calm down'

My take if anyone would care to know is Timbo & Nobby know their stuff. MM is very enthusiastic.

We , as in the above and I have holdings in common so lets move on

Finncap's assumption on possibly April has been made prior to Prof Chalmers call out for more trial sites to participate, and so it is reasonable to speculate the recruitment for first 100 could happen sooner, especially given the depressing numbers in Scotland , let alone Northern England where SFX 01's trial was also expected to happen. Gla :-)

Ps news on disclosure of Evgen's solid tumour collaboration, " some of best preclinical data on a hard to treat cancer seen"...could drop at anytime. Evgen's CEO couldn't have expressed more excitement in its potential. Exciting times!!!;-)

Finncap must be wrong because our resident expert expected the whole trial let alone the futility analysis on 100 patients to be done and dusted before April! Shurely shum mistake....

Sorry Timbo, but I didn't realise I was quoting you out of context...as I was using the following post from you....anyways Finncap now suggest April for the DSMB's assessment, but once a again it is perfectly reasonable to speculate that news could come much earlier now that Prof Chalmers is ramping up recruitment with the call out for more trial sites to participate...Gl ;-)

" They recruited nine patients in the first two weeks, this corresponds to approximately 20 patients /month, so it would be reasonable to assume that they might have recruited 100 patients by end of April 2021 and completed 100 patients by end of May 2021, the DSMB analysis might take 2 weeks, in which case it would be mid June 2021 when DSMB report."

Would expect that the increase in sites is to ensure that they get enough patients in this wave of the pandemic.

The number of admissions to hospitals in Scotland is currently circa 150 per day and has recently plateaued. Would expect this to start to fall over coming weeks as lock down restrictions continue. Worth also noting that infection rate around the Dundee area is circa 260/100k population (Glasgow is 350/100k and UK average is 485/100k) and has fallen 60% in the last week.

Finncap morning note suggest we should be made aware of the unblinded data (safety and futility analysis) from the first 100 patients in perhaps April, dependent on patient availability. Trial remains on track to complete 2021. DSMB will review data on first 100 patients treated. That's the big news the DSMB
