04/9/2018 11:52 | I get the impression that Hugh has said a little bit more than he perhaps should have with regard to increased production and financing the drill on Inishkea .. I suspect we may well be looking at a self financed drill next year .... | jusmasel99
04/9/2018 11:48 | Have a look, if you haven't already, at the UKOG RNS, and Steve Sanderson's comment. | hashertu
04/9/2018 11:42 | I didn't hear the Cove analogy?! I was in and out lol but must have missed that? I am here for offshore Ireland to be part of a shared strategy (UK onshore keeping the lights on with some upside) and certainly not the only strategy! | dunderheed
04/9/2018 11:35 | I liked the Cove analogy myself,I think most of us are really here for off shore. | christy41
04/9/2018 11:24 | Fair play to Hugh that was a pretty good summary of affairs. If I had anything to criticise I don't like all the emphasis on we have done everything we can in Ireland - which could make me ponder - well did you do everything you could with onshore but a nice bit at the end about possible onshore upside - hope that's not just fitting some esps lol!! | dunderheed
04/9/2018 10:53 | Hugh on Proactive.... | christy41
04/9/2018 10:23 | Michael Gove ... Wants to be PM ... On 26 Jan 2015: Michael Gove voted against explicitly requiring an environmental permit for hydraulic fracturing activities. Show vote On 26 Jan 2015: Michael Gove voted not to ban the exploitation of unconventional petroleum for at least 18 months and not to require a review of the impact of such exploitation on climate change, the environment, the economy, and health and safety be carried out and published. Show vote On 11 Feb 2015: Michael Gove voted to require a more extensive set of conditions be met prior to consent for hydraulic fracturing being given. Show vote On 16 Dec 2015: Michael Gove voted for greater restrictions on hydraulic fracturing (fracking) to extract shale gas in National Parks, the Broads, areas of outstanding natural beauty, World Heritage sites, and near points where water is abstracted for domestic and food production purposes. | jusmasel99
04/9/2018 10:08 | Because they haven't buckled down on this as expediently as they should have done, I'd say, pretty simple really? Imho? Why don't you guys write to the BOD to explain further as it obviously isn't covered in the rns, which I find strange? I'm sure there must have been some (informal) communication as to why it wasn't renewed? Again all imho of course. | dunderheed
04/9/2018 09:40 | The lack of progress is down to the local councillors being able to run EOG around in circles over the slightest little detail. Currypasty is right, why haven't they renewed the licence? Surely a reason must be given especially after all the time, effort and expenditure we and the other partners have put into this. | 4sta
04/9/2018 08:51 | Maybe they already have a good idea where they can drill from more easily | kwizza
04/9/2018 08:43 | Because we haven't progressed it over the years CP. I assume, imho. We have taken the eye off the ball here but wtfdik! | dunderheed
04/9/2018 08:40 | the Minister for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, has decided not to renew the lease we need some reasons.. freedom of information ? | currypasty
04/9/2018 08:18 | I think the lack of investor reaction really says it all to be honest. Even the lack of share sell off gives an indication as to what people thought of Holmwood's prospects of happening were. Wouldn't be surprised if we see our percentage sold and the licence drilled from elsewhere, possibly Brockham were Angus are operators. | cheek212
04/9/2018 08:11 | somebody must have known this was coming up? | currypasty
04/9/2018 07:59 | All those large sells make sense now. Surely nobody knew beforehand that this was going to happen? | 4sta
04/9/2018 07:33 | can we claim back costs | currypasty
04/9/2018 07:26 | Cheek - good post, but sensible thought isn't going to prevent a negative mark down, I think. Maybe time to look at doing something with Hardstoft too, rather than kick it into the long grass. Given it's cheap to develop, and already proven. | spangle93
04/9/2018 07:23 | An Albatross off our necks ... we should have got rid of it to UKOG ages ago .. probably a great buying opportunity this morning .. with Wressle coming up but then again I expect the initial application to be rejected once again so looking at Summer next year probably for that. There is a distinct absence of likely newsflow around at the moment .. so we rely on the unexpected .. I am just going to sit this out now ... | jusmasel99
04/9/2018 07:13 | Holmwood was getting nowhere slowly so maybe a different location might be better for everyone rather than continue to flog a dead horse! | cheek212
03/9/2018 11:07 | Vermillion takeover should be in next few weeks? | currypasty
29/8/2018 10:14 | A good shift of strategy by EDR and a more pragmatic approach. In my opinion it would be a waste of breath to stand before the committee in support of the application and merely summarise the contents of the application as they have done in all previous attempts. Now is the time to call a spade a spade and address the elephant in the room that is the absurd personal opinions of the labour councillors backed by Unite and the local political pressure that generates for the remaining conservative councillors. I agree with EDR that the likely outcome is refusal and a further appeal process but I am as positive as they are of a successful outcome at such a hearing and this time around it will be North Lincs who will be paying both parties' costs. | jusmasel99 |
