Agree with your comment regarding revenue (easier to achieve) and profit (harder to achieve) which is generally the issue that isn't discussed by the mega bulls on other chat channels. All very well talking revenues and perhaps Ebitda but the cost of investment & leases is never mentioned. I am long but small as it could do well or need another big issue at some point.

Targeting and achieving the number of sites is very much the easy part for any management team, making the majority profitable and sustaining that is the hard part, especially navigating this seasons government restrictions & likely lockdowns.

I suspect landlords won't be as forgiving this time around and neither will government grants or furlough schemes. In respect of foreign franchises they will be increasingly costly to oversee so I would put little or no value on those as the 'people passing through' revenues dwindle.

The governments Net Zero report states that all airports apart from Heathrow, Belfast and Glasgow will close by 2030 so international tourism will all but disappear for the working and middle classes in many of the ESC's locations. A steady flow of tourists looking for some fun will vanish. Obviously the prospect of not travelling is a significant driver for vaccine uptake and continued boosters currently so most unaware, as obviously not publicised.

the Board remains confident of achieving the target of 20 owner-operated sites ahead of the original target date of June 2022

They are at 19 including Lakeside, with improving EBITA Margins

Yes but with a market cap of £30m there is a lot of promise in the price.

Let's hope the forthcoming results will re-light the share price burners again at ESC given it has retraced from 49p to the 30p-33p level these past 5 months? Particularly looking for an increase in new sites being announced and their planned opening in Q4 2021 to expand ESC footprint further?

It depends if the government start ramping up the fear when they return from their own holidays (6th of September) and if the digital ID agenda narrative continues. It also depends whether ADE (antibody development enhancement) becomes a widespread thing for the jabbed as we enter flu/cold season. If it does then the genuine fear will feed upon itself and most of hospitality would be crushed into insolvency.
That said I would imagine that ESC along with most of hospitality are currently trading quite well as confidence creeps back and people just want some fun. Will they spoil the party?

Normality is returning and a combination of corporates looking for team events and others looking for external opportunities for leisure will fuel growth imv. We've already seen this recently being ahead of management expectations. Throw in overseas and virtual events and you have an opportunity that appears to be overlooked just now imho.
