They have not had to play one decent team yet apart from Belgium

England could win what . You can't seriously be suggesting these guys can win the world cup . Hahahahahaha

Stones and Henderson remain the key for me; they're seeing more of the ball than the rest but after reasonable starts to the games, they go to default - for Stones that's chiefly the ridiculous rather than the sublime, whilst with Henderson it's slow, sideways & ponderous (admittedly his options were reduced last night by an absolutely nothing performance from Alli). If Henderson can somehow overcome his fear and make a conscious effort to play forward and quicker, England could win it.

Hysteria is once again raising its head, on just another mediocre England team and the fact we managed to win through on penalties...it just won't do if we 'manage' to get through to the final...you have to feel proud of the performance..

I think Croatia will be quietly fancying their chances of getting to the final aswell - but the draw is so open in our half. Any one of the four nations can get to the final.

Moving onto England - I'd give Sterling the first-half against Sweden to actually do something; if not it's time for a change. We simply have to score from open play if we are to get to the final; only one Lingard goal so far is not good enough. Equally, I would be picking Rashford ahead of Vardy from now on.

If this is world class football it doesn't have a future. England never had one decent shot at goal against a rubbish Colombian team

Not a fan of football myself, its a waste of good minions imo but after seeing ten minutes of the colombians glad they didn't win.
Hopefully they'll go back to making coffee and coke and ponder the fact that cheats never prosper.

Eh?

Kane has been magnificent, the other Spurs players have been average.

Of course I'm behind the lads, and we can beat Sweden; we can even beat Croatia if we play well.

Can we beat Brazil or France? We have a much better chance than Leicester did of winning the title a few years back.

I think we'd all have given our little toe* if offered the chance, pre tournament, to play Sweden and Russia/Croatia to reach the final.

* or maybe a small scratch on it

Ay thailand, but I couldn't get longer odds on the mystery illness being "linked by the FA to door handles at the England training camp" and further "denounced by Russia as Western propaganda." Seriously, though, a good performance by this young team tonight, I thought. Character building. More chance of reaching the final now than if Colombia had underperformed and we'd cruised through this round.

We just didn't seem to play with any freedom last night. I thought Colombia were there for the taking, especially after they'd racked up all those yellow cards.

Sweden are on our level, so it will be another tight one imo.

It's the Root Vegetable Derby and I'm backing the Turnips to turnover the Swedes.

The mystery illness being "novichok" ie Russian flu'. The folks of Salisbury know all about it.

You maybe get two lives in the world cup. Perhaps in one game you get through on penalties. The next time you will probably lose on penalties. That is England's problem. They should be beating teams like Columbia in 90 mins - not taking the chance of getting through on pens. Very disappointing performance - which indicates that the game against Sweden is 50:50. And of course if that goes to pens - the likelihood is that we are out - our record against Sweden is shocking!

I like these bespoke bets that some bookmakers are now prepared to quote on, but was disappointed to get offered only 4/6 that "England beat Sweden in the QF but lose to Russia in the SF after the squad goes down with a mystery illness."
