21/9/2023 10:27 | Corteva will undoubtedly buy Eden at some point. Could be months away, more likely years but it’s a no brainer move for them. They could buy them with pocket change and shareholders would still do very well out of the deal. | ![]() kittybiscuits
21/9/2023 10:14 | We will have to wait and see over time if Eden get's taken out, but 1) Profit doesn't seem to be a requirement to takeover, example cited 2) Collective collaboration can still exist, even if Eden and its IP, know-how & products have new owners 3) Consolidation can still take place, even if not independent 4) Human and corporate nature tells us that people and business do not like others to have what they don't have themselves. As such, I'd imagine a competitor would rather own and control point 2, rather than let Eden thrive independently and answer to Eden's tune and margins Time will tell. I don't know if Eden will get taken out, but if Ecovelex is to be one of several seeds and if the insecticide is as suggested, it makes Eden highly attractive through its know-how and ability to develop relevant bio products. In my opinion, one major threat to Eden staying independent is money. Eden doesn't have vast amounts of cash to expedite product development and regulatory approvals as quickly as they may like. If Eden's Active Ingredients have infinite possibilities as Sean declared in a presentation earlier this year, then it is natural to assume that product development is being held back by a lack of cash. Big Ag doesn't have that constraint. If big Ag recognises the opportunities in Eden's AI's that Eden does, then the possibility exists for Eden to be taken out, regardless of profits, so that a strong portfolio of products can come to market quicker., satisfying farmers, consumers & regulators alike. | ![]() investingisatrickygame
21/9/2023 09:42 | Investing, You pose some interesting points about Eden being taken out but remember Smith described Eden as a consolidator if my memory serves me. My impression is that the teeth of the Anti-Trust lawyers have been warn down and like many institutions these days have been co-opted into a Authoritarian UN2030 aganda, a bigger plan, a bigger version if you like of Proposition Joe's connect from the HBO The Wire series. This neutering in this period of the Forth Turning (Neil Howe) means that cooperation and agreement among the giants of Ag rather than competition imo. An example of this might be how Corteva's Igor Teslenko describes how he see's the future; 'We can learn from each other and achieve more if we work collectively, strengthening our capacity to successfully transition to more sustainable agriculture. By leaning into four key topics, we can learn the emerging common themes, challenges, and solutions that will help shape and guide our system'. Lets not forget the dual role Nilceli Fernandes played as Corteva and Syngenta between 2019 and 2022. So back to your point about take over..how in this new 'collective' space will the giants of Ag decide who will take out Eden or have they already decided not to gobble it up like they did Pam's outfit Marrone Bio. Perhaps this new collective approach means they have agreed that Eden should stay as an independent 'consolidator'? That outcome seems to match what Lykele likes to say about Eden's big player in the biopesticide space.. ambitions. | ![]() supersonico

20/9/2023 09:32 | Today is the day.. Monica SorribasMonica Sorriba Vice President, Northern Europe Commercial Unit Leader at Corteva Agriscience 🌍🌱 Excited to share that our 'Growing for Good' series will launch on September 20th. We are partnering with the @FT live to launch the 'Growing for Good' initiative, where circular discussions will explore innovative and collaborative strategies on how to transition towards a more sustainable food system. Our first event focuses on the food industry. Food producers sit at the helm of the upstream market, and with this power comes the ability to propel change across the entire supply chain - from farmers to the end consumer. The transformation towards sustainability, however, calls for significant investment. How can food producers develop new innovative strategies that balance the need to invest in more sustainable food systems and the fine margins that already exist in the sector? 🚜🌾 | ![]() supersonico
20/9/2023 07:52 | So..my question since Eden appear to have a working relationship with the Royal Holloway led by JH is; Is Syngenta Eden's second as yet undeclared seed treatment partner? or perhaps any of the other companies mentioned here?; 'The centre's research groups have collaboration projects with industrial and academic partners including Syngenta, Boehringer Ingelheim Pharma GmbH & Co. 14/9/2023 16:20 | ARAW event. There are moments that remain engraved in the retina. However, today we will treasure it with each of our five senses. 👃 Through smell we have discovered how a greenhouse smells after applying Araw. 👀 We have seen with our own eyes the effectiveness of this #fungicida in crops in Almeria. 👅 We have also tasted the gourmet elaborations with vegetables from the area thanks to Chef José Álvarez. 👂 The delight for our ears has been brought by the group Ana Bravo Quartet. ✌️ But the best moment has been when we have been able to learn, laugh and hug the more than 200 colleagues who have attended this event. Thanks to everyone who has made this day an unforgettable day, including our presenter Caterina Pak, Dr. Dolores Fernández Ortuño and the farmers who testified to the effectiveness of Araw! | ![]() supersonico
