the whole hog: Ileitis Water Medication ECO Animal Health Ltd., of London, England and its North American distributor, Pharmgate Animal Health, announce the approval of ECO's new antibiotic, Aivlosin Water Soluble Granules, containing tylvalosin. Aivlosin is the only water medication approved for the control of porcine proliferative enteritis (PPE), associated with Lawsonia intracellularis (ileitis) infection in swine, that doesn't require treatment in the feed. The granules are administered continuously in drinking water for five consecutive days at an inclusion rate of 50 ppm to provide 5 mg tylvalosin per kg bodyweight daily. This provides both a low-dose rate and short duration of treatment. Tylvalosin is rapidly absorbed, widely distributed to target tissues, extensively metabolized and rapidly excreted. The in-water delivery system offers the producer the flexibility to treat individual pens or barns - features that are not often possible with in-feed medications. In a North American study, clinical scores and lesion scores were significantly reduced in treated pigs vs. nontreated pigs. There were no deaths in treated pigs vs. 14.9% deaths in nonmedicated controls. There is no withdrawal time. I don't think we'll see much of an impact from USA/Canada sales until next finacial year. Extract from the last set of final results "ECO Animal Health Group has delivered another strong set of results for the year ended 31 March 2012 and the current year has started well. We are confident that the long awaited marketing authorisations in the US and Canada will have a major positive effect on the development of ECO, although it will be some months before the product launches gain momentum. We do not expect a noticeable impact on our financial performance until next year." This isn't too surprising as ECO will have to ramp-up production, distribution, sales & marketing etc in order to get fully up and running in north america.

Probably a bit early for big revenues ....patience needed, but rewards will follow.

Novemeber interims should confirm that Aivlosin has had a great start in the US..this is good for numbers but more importantly makes the takeover more likely ....and that will be at a heck of a big premium

Pretty good write up in Investors Chronicle on 10th Oct no doubt explains the modest buying that's happened since. It takes very little to push the share price up.

not tipped over the wkend, was tipped a few weeks back now though. seems to me that there is some buying interest in the name and no sellers. the recent issue of equity is probably employees exercising share options and selling shares to a buyer. quite clearly this is a gem of a company that the stock market has not picked up on....just hope that there is NO low-ball bid. what has achieved by this company is ENORMOUS

here is something and explains today's volume and share price tick-up.....eah tipped in today's Investors Chronicle, not a bad article for them! ECO Animal Health (EAH) is a £134m Aim-traded entity that has rapidly diversified across the globe due to its specialist technical offering. It markets a portfolio of proprietary veterinary drugs in over 50 countries, including strengthening market positions in Latin America and Asia. Despite tough market conditions in Europe, ECO managed to increase its latest full-year revenues, while driving up net profits by a third. The most significant development for the group this year was the FDA approval of its drug Aivlosin for use in the US. The drug, a proven antibiotic used to control respiratory and enteric diseases in both pigs and poultry, is one of ECO's two principal products, and its entry into the US veterinary market is an important milestone for the group, although the commercial benefits are unlikely to become apparent until next year. Despite a solid share price performance through the year, we think that ECO provides the best entry point to this market. full article link: http://www.investorschronicle.co.uk/2012/10/10/shares/news-and-analysis/profit-from-expanding-asian-appetites-aXdMQW7cot9v1v8S8c0VdJ/article.html

Short term movements don't bother me. This still looks like a great business in the making and one which will, probably, be sold. The last sentence is interesting - implies a potential sale when they have launched in the US and Canada to me: OUTLOOK We are confident that the long awaited marketing authorisations in the US and Canada will have a major positive effect on the development of ECO, although it will be some months before the product launches gain momentum. We do not expect a noticeable impact on our financial performance until next year. ECO is very well placed to further broaden its product ranges and its global spread will ensure that it capitalises on opportunities as they arise in all the Group's major markets. The Group is set for an exciting future and looks forward to maximising value for shareholders.
