Local time in Argentina ~1200 and somewhat interesting afternoon trading activity...

Penny finally dropping? Let's bear in mind that ELM 1004 should have put about 5p on the share price (35-40 BCF)

An interesting update Steelwatch, thanks.

Whilst all eyes are on Tapi A for obvious enough reason, shouldn't loose focus on Frac C and D. I noted ELM-1004 and Tobifera source and their near neighbour to the West producing 6-7k bopd equivalent from the Tobifera. Very nice too.

Seems 3D seismic over Frac D may now be taking a back seat, perhaps after the fourth drill in this campaign the picture we be sufficiently complete. There will be bigger fish to fry and operational/production to invest in. I'd be keen to see production getting a shot in the arm and with that a mini cash generation drive. That would be a terrific condition to be in ahead of the Tapi campaign 2H/19.

Fair value today should be closer to a 16-18p range IMHO. Notwithstanding ELM-1004 test (highly likely to be productive) and EMS drill result should add significantly more; given proximity to resources and channels to market.

Significantly undervalued sub 15p - fwiw I wouldn't expect that to continue for long ;o)

Someone's finally taking notice....650,000 buy @12p - if there were one, that'll be a good chunk of the overhang cleared and another ~350,000 bought @11.75-11.85 that I can see. Good.

Edit 1
"Well CSo-85 underwent an extended well test period ...achieving a maximum rate of 2.5 mmscf/d at a tubing head pressure of 432 psi. This was followed by a period of 19 days in which pressure gauges were left in the wellbore to monitor the pressure build up...the results were very positive and indicate that the well is in direct communication with a volume of approximately 4 bcf of gas in the Springhill C1 reservoir. "

...this is just C1 with the C3 reservoir to add. Most encouraging.

Edit 2
NB Results from the workover at CSo-80 (centrally located in the Frac D basin) encountered a ~7m gas cap before hitting the oil reservoir. "...we were surprised" ;o) said Fiona at the time.
Highly likely Frac D - which has yet to have full 3D seismic - will be both an oil and gas producer.

Frac D
Gas production pre-reqs i) Compressor ii) Link-pipe to BA main (furthest distance iro 25km)
Oil production pre-reqs i) Submersible pump ii) Separator iii) Trucks

A smart call and will undoubtedly bode well for the cash position through 2019 - clearly promising for the Tapi Aike programme next year. Options and opportunities left, right and chelsea...

Molino Sur drill result next-up. May there be a fair wind in her sails ;o)

Re Tapi Aike, could a first drill be completed in 1H2019? I would have thought ECHO would want to be as close as possible to those historic gas discovery sites [undertaken a few decades ago], though they will want to watch reservoir pressure, no doubt a reason for pre-req, full 3D seismic. No one would want to see the doors blown off, keeping it safe is priority #1
Could be an embarrassingly large quant of hydrocarbons in that acreage. Too much to trumpet at this stage?

Agree, overhang still to clear.

Notwithstanding the great result from ELM-1004 - Molino Sur looks particularly interesting. [Molino Sur Pmean basis is estimated at approximately 60 MMbbls = Very nice too].

Echo that Peach (apols) - similarly impressed by the focus and professionalism of the local crew. Frac C provides a great exercise for everyone ahead of Tapi A next year.

Not much to dislike here. Solid progress.

"Integration of this data along with the mapped extent of the Springhill C1 reservoir on the eastern flank would indicate that it will be possible to convert some, or all, of the currently classified gross best case prospective resources of 15.3 bcf immediately to contingent resources."

Onwards to the Molino Sur drill...it's turning into a successful campaign. I would imagine a good deal more interest when clarity is given to the commercial roadmap for ELM 1004 and the workovers, but obviously good to have all these options. The final drill should frame the size of the find at 1004 - could be an eye opener.

Agree it sounds very positive indeed. That said I must be missing something as it would appear the market as a whole doesn't think so.

From Malcy's Blog today:

Echo Energy
I mentioned Echo briefly yesterday but with little time to go through the announcement I wanted to flesh it out a bit today after a chat with the CEO. The complication in the well was that whilst the Springhill reservoir was showing only limited gas shows leading one to believe that a better chance may be up dip, the Tobifera was oil bearing in thin beds. When the test rig arrives on site it will establish whether the oil will flow here and given the well came in at 2/3 of budgeted cost it is not money wasted.

The company will drill the third well which is another Springhill/Tobifera play after which all options remain open to the company. The fourth well was certainly de-risked by the first well which leaves all options open for the company as it looks at this well programme’s results as well as the successes achieved in the workover programme on Fracción D. With the drilling programme 2/2 Echo is having a good start to its campaign in Argentina and with good value too.

Once again, a well executed drill by CGC who are certainly not hanging around. I sense that this was the more speculative of the four drill programme and has thrown up some interesting data.

Here's to Molino Sur - she may have wind in her sails.

Exciting times.
