There is an excellent opportunity to buy here. The only factor at play is uncertainty relating to Brexit.Few points to considerA lot of new carriers have attempted to enter the market and have suffered and failed lately, especially with long haul. EasyJet and Ryr have become oligarchs of the short haul industry, their costs can't be competed with. The classical long haul carrier who have survived won't enter this market or expand in short haul because they will focus on long haul, therefore leaving Easy and Ryr to become feeders to these carriers. The demanding growth for long haul for the next few years is staggering. This can only be facilitated by these carriers as they can generate the numbers needed.Easy does not have the issues Ryr will have regarding the 737 Max. Their expansion will continue.Regardless of whether Brexit happens, it will be finalised within the next few weeks and the uncertainty will lift. Growth in the travel industry will not decline and things will be back to normal within the matter of weeks or maybe a few months.In the meantime, there is an excellent opportunity to buy a share price that is undervalued.We wait for an opportunity and it's here in front of us now.

Not sure I could agree with any of that. The situation which we have in Parliament at the moment reflects the reality of the 2017 election. We have, in essence, exactly what the country voted for. It's also very enlightening to look at the individual members of the ERG. I wouldn't call them knuckle draggers, but if anyone thinks for one minute they represent the view of the country as a whole they should really get out more.

The primary issue atm is sector overcapacity. Capacity growth is outstripping demand
growth. Until that balances there may be more pain to come imv.

There are many plane problems at the mo (engine fatigue and auto-software following crash).
I would assume the m/f takes key financial responsibility to fix the problem, but, when we read of planes being grounded ( as same model possibly with same fault etc), is that loss of revenue for airline compensated for by m/f, then of course disrupted passenger are probably compensated if no spare planes to fill in, so more potential consequential loss. Are spare planes provided by m/f? Anyone here know the situation for who pays what?

I understood and sympathised the Brexit point of view but thought it was too risky. I never thought it would turn out so badly though because nobody mentioned the issue with NI border. Its now become a damage limitation deal and even if May's deal gets through this will drag on for years continuing to damage the country. The UK is in a very weak position now. Pity really as UK was in a great position before this started and was on schedule to become Europe's biggest economy by 2030.
Not sure my Easyjet investment is going to recover anytime soon as I expect more and more people are not going to be able afford to travel abroad.

Porche, I'm not in any way anti European and I don't think most Leave voters are either, just pro being British. I worked for a major French Manufacturer for nearly 40 years and spent much time there and I love holidaying there too.

It is the increasing movement to a Federal Europe that I object to. Forgive me but I don't agree with your dismissal of government by Westminster. The Brexit process has been disastrously handled by Teresa May, I fully agree and it is the lack of certainty that has damaged confidence. Had we not capitulated initially to the EU in the beginning it could have all been so different. Sadly we are where we are and given the Remain majority in Parliament, I agree a proper Brexit may now be beyond us at this time but the problem will not go away and however it turns out, Brexit will continue to be with us.

Porsche my 3 penny worth . I never wanted to join the Common Market , we were in EFTA and I thought joining a club where all the rules had been made by the French and Germans would add to food costs . At the time in 1972 we were happily selling Morris Minors etc to NZ in exchange for cheap Lamb and butter and we had total control of our ag and fishing rights . Ted Heath took us in and he was given a backhander which allowed him to buy a very expensive yacht ( Morning Cloud ) , it was a stitch up and very expensive as all food prices went up with big tariffs against our commonwealth friends . So I voted out when HW gave us the first referendum . However in the referendum in 2016 I voted Remain .. Why ... Well at 73yrs old I probably have only 10-15 yrs left on the planet . My children 33yrs and 35yrs are big fans of the EU and I felt it was selfish of me to vote out . Also having been in the club for 44 years it was obvious that the remaining 27 had all the cards and would give us rotten terms to deter other members from leaving . It was going to be the most expensive and divisive divorce of all time , and given the economic benefits and freedom to travel , plus our semi detached status ( not in the Schengen or the Euro ) I felt we would be bonkers to leave .

warranty. I live in France part of the year, i love it. I dont have this anti european thing, i dont get it. The EU has protected workers rights in the uk, civil liberties, all alot better than uk gov’ ever have. This “ can vote in or out “ stuff, thats not true, your only choice at the moment is a pixx poor tory gov or an even worse labour one and most of uk is run by civil servants who are not elected anyway. I dont “ prefer “ anything, but im pragmatic, the uk has been prosperous as a member of europe and it punches its weight there, europe, good business is compromise, it is the biggest trading block in the world and we are an important member of it. So far what has brexit delivered apart from almost three years of impoverishing mess? You dont think any void left by eu regulation wont be filled with twice as much home grown rubbish? Im pretty sure brexit will get kicked out now anyway, people have have seen what a lie it is, only a moron wants to be poorer, to have less rights, less protection.

bor491. Yes, Friday seemingly planned. Had a video cast from YouInvest over weekend detailing EZJ expectations for figures in Friday rns. Presumably key market sensitive figures were known before-hand by EZJ, so legally obliged to release early.
I was about to come back in to EZJ and on hearing of a Fridays rns thought I'd better do it mon/Tues - so a lucky escape for me.

On POO, I am quite suprised it has such an impact on passenger no's.
If taking a holiday, overseas weather is such a big factor I'd expect most people to pay an extra few quid rather than stay in UK - where hotels etc can be dearer anyway.
I guess family would be paying 4 times more.
For businesses, if you need to fly you need to fly.
Can anyone give me a rule of thumb on oil cost as percentage of seat price, say for EZJ euro distance.

I believe they hedge quite a bit of the fuel bill. And the oil price was recently quite low - I would have locked/hedged based on that? This Brexit thing has done a lot of damage to my portfolio :(

In terms of the sector, uncertainty is beginning to bite on consumer sentiment,
plus the oil price is heading higher. Higher oil is helpful at taking out excess
capacity longer term.

Only my best guess, so very much a case of DYOR, as always.

Don't be swayed by anything I post, just giving a view, nothing more.

Also does anyone know if Ryanair will be updating the market anytime soon? - seems i have 18th July as a date but is there an earlier update? Also I thought that Easyjet were updating the market on the 5th April but the date was somehow changed for today?

difference what any of us think re Brexit.

Porche, as I've said before I'm sure that we actually agree on more than we disagree and it's a shame sides have been so polarised. If you would, I'd like you to answer one question that has always puzzled me about those who voted for Remain?

Why would you prefer to have decisions made that affect every important aspect of your life made by people you don't know, and can't vote in or out, in Brussels, rather than politicians you know and can easily vote in or out and understand your concerns far better, who sit in Westminster?

I ask this question totally genuinely and not with any hint of patronisation because the same applies to politicians and I just fail to understand it.
