Nice results from IAG, should bleed across! |
Easyjet holidays are now engaged with over 8000 hotels on their platform. A massive expansion. We have 24 hotels receiving easyJet holidays clients at 7 different locations. Easyjet are promising more flights into the major resorts and are extending the summer season really from easter until the end of October after experiencing strong demands on the fringes of the traditional period. Garry is doing a great job at easyjet holidays and whilst progress with the airline may be modest the holiday business is another story. |
Still no trading update, weeks late |
A very long way to go before this makes any sense. |
Nice to see EasyJet share price flying finally! |
Nothing to do with APD. Ryanair has delivery issues and that is the factor at play. It's a free swipe by O'Leary at the UK because he dislikes NATS and their fees for a mediocre service. |
How many bad decisions has O'Leary made out of temper. His like a big baby when he doesn't get his own way. Easyjet will benefit from his stupidity |
Europe's largest airline, Ryanair, reported "strong" current bookings and claimed that ticket price weakness was "moderating" alongside interim results this morning. Profits after tax fell 18 per cent to 1.79 billion in the six months to the end of September, down from the 2.18 billion over the same period last year and a fraction short of analysts' expectations. Revenue over the period was a fraction higher at 8.69 billion, up from 8.58 billion. On Friday Ryanair warned that it might cut the number of flights from the UK by up to 10 per cent next year after the government increased air passenger duty in the budget. |
Wonder how the share price will fair tomorrow in the first hour and over the day. Closed on Fri at 5.21 but looks like a big after hours trade dropped it to 5.07. We also have Ryanair update. I'm confident there will be positive movement when ezj release results but who knows if the next few week. Any views? |
It's not the once a year holiday makers easy need to worry about with marginally increasing fairs... |
Tax on flights will make absolutely no difference to the volume of bookings. Many people spending more on parking than flying. It's a ridiculously cheap way to travel. Today I fly Málaga to Barcelona on Vueling for around one quarter of the cost of driving or the train. Tax is across the board, people will just cut things elsewhere. This year the average UK summer holiday was 8.5 days with us on easyJet holidays. That's where they trim down from 9.2 days last year. |
Working classes will forgo their sausage and chips but never their foreign trips….and of course ezj only serve the uk market! |
If that's the case then it's a good buying opportunity! |
Foreverbull, absolutely it's budget related. Reeves will tax ordinary working families so hard and free up limits on public borrowing, which will increase interest rates and therefore mortgage rates. She'll increase CGT even on ordinary workers save as you earn schemes. This will lead to a downturn in working class spending such as foreign holidays and long weekend trips abroad. Off course, scheduled airlines with their business clients wont be affected. Easyjet are doomed starting tomorrow. |
Not being consistent with TUs won't help them. |
Apd expected to be increased |
Is the weak share price in anticipation to any bad news for airlines in the upcoming budget |
Relentless selling .... Gave up all the gains from yesterday's positive rise |
Oil down substantially. Hopefully it will resume it's previous path into the 60's. Certainly they should be reducing the hedge price considerably over the next few years. We'll see a strong performance this year and very positive comments about the winter sun performance. TheQ1 breakeven target is a possibility this year with summer extended in the Eastern med. Different story in Spain and Portugal where the drought has ended with several weeks of rain and cold weather. The Costa looks green and vibrant again after several years of drought. |
Good start to the week |
It won't be passed on the consumer if they pass on paying the increased fair. |
Of course tax will increase and be immediately passed to the customer. Tax is universal. |
May be waiting until after the Budget.
Tax will increase I would assume.
Might affect guidance |
The last 3 years they have done trading updates on or around 12th October, nada this year, what are they hiding? |
