It's all based on demand so you travel when demand is high. I can tell you the hotels are exactly the same. The cheap flights are supplemented by the expensive flights. It all amounts to easyJet making a very slim profit margin over the whole year.
Flights are largely full so whilst you may not be prepared to pay many others are.
As for the luggage. I never have luggage and I certainly don't want to pay for your luggage. If you want it, you pay for it. Can't get fairer than that. |
Simple supply and demand. If you book a flight for £20 and a lot of tickets don't sell would you happily pay £500 more on the date to cover costs? No...an airline is a 365 day a year business. You can't just expect it to be there operating at the minute you want it for bargain prices. |
I wouldn't want to pay Jet2 £700 or Ezj £600 plus luggage only to find there's no snow or the French Air Traffic controllers go on strike that week. Just greed taking advantage of young families trying to get away. You also have to get accomodation and prices of hotel rooms are a bit higher that week - maybe 20% higher but not 500% higher like the airlines. |

I'm a shareholder but it's disgusting how these (low cost?) Airlines screw families who have to travel in school holidays. For example both ezj and jet2 fly Manchester to Innsbruck for reasonable rates but in February half term they are quadruple the price. For example fly Sunday to Sunday two weeks before half term £135 return with Jet2. Same flights but in half term 2 weeks later £700 per person. Multiply that by a family of four. Easyjet not as bad as that but quickly upsetting customers. |
If it's 50p then that's all ryanair gets. If it's easyJet holidays then we know they will get £5 .
Easyjet are expanding down multiple metrics.
Fleet expansion. Swapping out 319 for 320/321 adding seats and reducing cost.
Adding routes to open new markets especially in winter.
Migrating seats to holiday business bookings at 10x the margin.
Ryanair and wizz have very few options. |

Interesting data coming out of the air fares for February March April 2025. Fares are up from 8-26% across our basket of routes.
The assessment ignores the top and bottom 8 days which balances Easter out. The largest increase UK to Spain and Portugal up 18-26%.
Bizarrely Ryanair are slightly ahead of Easyjet on the last 7 days average bare price. |

Q4 update next Friday or the following Monday. Not long to wait. £720-740m profit is my hope. That will reflect the epic summer we all had on the Costa.

Don't forget blames the EZY customers for booking garbage hotels that EZY offers. Sorry the booking portal...that when demand is low, the hoteliers will have zero interest in as they will want confirmed bookings from Jet2 etc. |
I don't see what that has to do with you. I work when I want. In fact I am working this morning.
I worked all night experiencing the facilities at one of our hotels. I talk with guests, tour the premise and meet the hotel management. Off to test the pool.
