As one of the aforementioned lurkers, I will go for £4.75. What are your targets 12/18 months out?

I bought in earlier this year and I am now over 50% up, I have been tempted to top-up a couple of times - wish I had, would you add at these levels?

robin lets have your year end close for DOM tomorrow as a last entry. As there is currently only myself and philanderer with suggestions. I guess we must have a lot of lurkers on this thread and prefer not to post.

The 2009 pre-Christmas spell of cold weather boosted profits at DOM, as people decided to eat at home rather than venturing out. With the good rise today, perhaps the market is anticipating the same outcome this year.

Domino's Pizza being crowned Pizza Delivery Chain of the Year

Domino's Pizza, the pizza delivery expert, has been crowned the country's top pizza delivery chain by the Pizza, Pasta and Italian Food Association (PAPA). The prestigious PAPA awards recognise the industry's leading takeaways, restaurants and suppliers.

The Pizza Delivery Chain of the Year award recognises operators who are successfully driving the delivery and takeaway sector. It is open to companies with more than five stores, and acknowledges the highest standards in overall operation, ranging from customer service and food quality to delivery to the customer and new product development. In addition, the award also seeks to find pizza delivery businesses that are positively driving the market.

Domino's Pizza was presented the award, based on its continued impressive growth, ambitious future plans and relentless focus on the highest quality, fresh ingredients and best possible customer service.

Andy Hirst, head of franchise development at Domino's, said: "We are delighted to have been crowned pizza delivery chain of the year. This is a fantastic achievement, which is made even more special as we're celebrating our 25th anniversary this year. The current climate has created tough times for many in the industry, but we've always stuck to our guns and made sure we deliver not only the tastiest, highest quality pizzas to our customers but also great service too. This award is testament to the ongoing hard work and dedication of the entire Domino's team."

Celebrating 25 successful years in the UK, Domino's Pizza currently has 643 stores in the UK and Republic of Ireland and plans to open 55 new stores annually. For more details on the pizza delivery chain of the year, log on to www.dominos.co.uk

I wonder if DOM are keeping their eye on this situation ? Don`t want to seem like a vulture but there may be some good outlets in prime locations that will be available in future.

Examiner is appointed to Four Star Pizza in High Court

Tuesday November 16 2010

The High Court yesterday appointed an interim examiner to the Four Star Pizza chain after a judge heard the company was insolvent and unable to pay its debts.

The directors of Four Star Pizza Ltd, and its holding parent company Zowington Ltd, sought the court's protection when Mr Justice Frank Clarke was told it was hoped a scheme could be drawn up to ensure its survival.

The move comes in the wake of a major expansion drive by the firm and an optimistic outlook for future revenue in the market here.

The firm has 40 stores -- after expanding from 29 in 2006 -- and is the second-largest take-out franchise in the Republic and the North.

It had planned to expand its operation further and open 60 stores in Ireland by 2012.

The court heard that, due to increased competition, the downturn in the economy and the difficulty with franchisees being able to pay rents, the directors believed it was prudent to seek court protection.

The company was the head tenant on most of the franchisees' leases and had an obligation to pay rents that were not reflective of the market, as had been the case in many other examinerships, the court heard.

The court heard the company had a debt to National Irish Bank of €4.9m while other creditors included an ingredients supply firm, a printing firm and the Revenue Commissioners.

The judge appointed Neil Hughes of Hughes Blake as interim examiner and made the matter returnable to the High Court at the end of the month.

The firm could not be contacted for comment last night.

Order

The company had previously insisted business had improved during the recession, as many people were opting to stay in and order food rather than going to a restaurant.

Earlier this year, Anthuan Xavier, one of the firm's directors, said there was "another three years" of growth for the chain in the Irish market.

The appointment of an interim examiner comes as rival pizza chains see increased revenues in the recession.

Domino's Pizza recently revealed a bumper set of financial figures for 2009, as total sales at stores in the UK and Ireland jumped 16pc to €467m.

It said it had been helped by sponsorship of top-rated TV shows such as 'The X Factor'.

Have you given any consideration to the possibility that DOM could be on someone's takeover menu?

Hi philanderer,

DOM continues to climb. Did the SGP piece (which included DOM) rub off on new US & UK investors?
We are now due a breather before another push to year end.

Just out of interest should we encourage all long-term holders to post their guess of the year end share price for DOM? Prior to Dec 1.
