"Treasury takes the pizza with £500 bill"

Civil servants have enjoyed double helpings of takeaway pizza - at taxpayers' expense.
Workers at HM Treasury's London HQ are allowed to dial out if they work after 8pm.

Staff stayed late for TWO Budgets in the first six months of the year, one for Labour and one for the Coalition - leaving a bill of more than £500.

The hungry workers spent £295.99 at Domino's for Alistair Darling's last Budget in March.

And in June they ordered £226.55 worth of pizza before George Osborne's first Budget - enough for 19 cheese and tomato pizzas.

The bills were revealed following a Freedom of Information request by a member of the public who saw the pizzas being delivered on TV.

Officials revealed the total but could not say which pizzas were ordered. A Treasury spokesman said: "Rather than claim a meal allowance, food can be ordered in so staff can keep working."

Independent newspaper market report...

".....Further afield, Credit Suisse supported Domino's Pizza, the pizza delivery specialist, which rose 3.7p to 413.5p after the broker adopted an "outperform" stance, flagging the prospect of continued sales growth over the second half. "The recent launch of a lunchtime campaign, backed by national advertising, should support second-half like-for-like sales following positive results from the soft launch and evidence from successful campaigns in the US and Australia," the broker said, setting a 500p target on the stock"

Tuesday's small dip. Not only has the scale of the price surge-fueled by widespread crop failures in Russia-taken traders and analysts aback, it has also prompted a range of companies, including breadmakers and owners of pizza chains, to voice cost concerns.

"..And of course, where we have picked winners they have been stellar performers.
Domino's Pizza, sponsor of Britain's Got Talent, has shown itself to be a bit of a star.
"Now up 22 per cent from the level where we tipped it, it is time it set a new stop loss at around 360p."

evening abbey8, I think the problem with this swiss company is that the first store was opened in 2000 and it`s taken another ten years to have just a total of twelve outlets as of today. Growth almost non existant.

At that rate how long is it going to take to get these fifty extra stores up and running ?

Global Brands opened its first Domino`s pizzeria in Eaux Vives (Geneva) in January 2000. Since then, the Company has expanded to twelve Company operated stores across Switzerland. At present, there are four stores in Geneva, five stores in Zurich, one store in Neuchatel, one store in Lausanne and one store in Basel. Further stores are also planned this year.

Global Brands is currently expanding throughout Switzerland with the aim of opening 50 Domino`s pizzerias. The further development will combine company operated stores as well as stores sub-franchised to franchisees.

"Dominos developing smartphone app"

Pizza delivery brand Domino's is set to release a smartphone app which will allow consumers to choose and order their choice of pizza for delivery.

Speaking to The Drum, newly appointed marketing Simon Wallis explained that the app would offer customers their range of pizzas, as well as feature GPS in order to find the customer's location and relay the details of their nearest store.

A 'Pizza slow machine' game will also accompany the app which will allow customers to randomly choose which pizza they would like to order, should they be unable to decide.

Wallis said that while the development of the app would be used to relay the brand's personality and messages, the focus would be placed mainly on pizza ordering and delivery.

He added that he also believed that the app should have been developed previously by the brand.

"It's a little bit belated if I'm honest, it should have been there long before now, but that will be there and available to the market very shortly," he said before adding that the development of the iPad for a further avenue that the brand was interested in using.

"Generally speaking what we have to do in terms of the brand is to try and make Dominos available anywhere for anyone who wants it whenever they need it," added Wallis.

The Domino's app will be made available to download through the Apple store, for free, in the coming weeks.

Unfortunately details about the IPO are scarce and I have no experience with AIM IPOs. However Poland seems like a good bet and the Worthington and Shaw seem to be experienced characters.

I may just buy the shares on the open AIM market once they begin trading.
