27/4/2010 18:33 | philanderer, Flight to quality defensive companies like DOM could be the order, if this is beginning of THE correction. c2i | ![]() contrarian2investor
27/4/2010 16:58 | Fine performance by DOM today (following on from a good one yesterday) on a generally rotten day for the market. ... 450k volume almost double that of monday. New MK commissary only a few weeks away now. | ![]() philanderer
23/4/2010 20:30 | Social network Foursquare approaches 1m users "......The service has only recently breached the UK, with London being the first city to become networked in October of 2009. Furthermore, brands such as Debenhams and Domino's Pizza have become the first major companies in the UK to target users of the service, according to Brand Republic." | ![]() philanderer

20/4/2010 16:50 | Reasonable clawback after the lunchtime drop when those inflation figures were released......have been watching GRG which had an almost identical trading pattern today. | ![]() philanderer
20/4/2010 08:38 | Tipped in Daily Telegraph this morning.. Questor share tip: Domino's boosted by Britain's Got Talent and World Cup ...At the end of May, the company is taking City analysts on a visit to its new commissary in Milton Keynes which will service more than 500 Domino's stores. The company believes this will be "pivotal" in helping Domino's achieve its goal of opening 1,000 stores by 2017. Questor reckons it is likely analysts will upgrade their estimates once this site visit is completed....Buy. | ![]() philanderer
19/4/2010 23:04 | Evening contrarian, some good points there. Seemed to be a good bounce off 335p today. Dow strong tonight so hopefully a good day tomorrow with DOM heading back over 340p. | ![]() philanderer
19/4/2010 22:31 | Hi philanderer, For some DOM has been quite volatile over the past 5 trading days but this is in fact the norm. So I would expect further volatility as we edge nearer to the World Cup. Let us not forget that their share price is up over 1300% since its IPO inspite of numerous retracements. If you look back on the chart you will see that it was only Dec 08, that they were at sub £1.50. Those that bailed out at that stage, then had to buy back much higher up. Those that refused to buy back higher up, have since missed out on over a 100% increase. I wonder how much additional trade DOM have done in their Airport outlets in the past week? c2i | ![]() contrarian2investor
19/4/2010 11:42 | "PH Creative wins Aintree and Maghull deal with Domino's Pizza" Marketing agency PH Creative has won a contract to design a new interactive website for Domino's Pizza. The firm, which will start by redesigning the websites for the chain's Aintree and Maghull stores, is developing what it calls a "maverick online concept" where people can customise their own pizzas before tracking their progress. PH staff also spent an afternoon at the Aintree branch of Domino's honing their pizza-making skills and learning more about how the company works. PH Creative managing director Bryan Adams said: "We were thrilled to win this contract and thought a visit to the inner sanctum of a Domino's branch would help with our design plans." | ![]() philanderer
16/4/2010 10:21 | Independent newspaper market report... "....Further afield, Domino's Pizza UK & Ireland, which was hit after Panmure Gordon questioned the prospects for like-for-like sales growth earlier this week, rose by 7p, to 348p, after Numis came to its defence, saying that Wednesday's sell-off was "overdone". "Like-for-like sales are unlikely to weaken soon," the broker said, citing various factors, including the World Cup, that could boost growth in the second quarter. Numis added that while fuel costs were the only source of pressure, they were "relatively immaterial both to the company and franchisees". As for competition, Numis said the pressure was limited. "Papa Johns is continuing to orientate any expansion away from Domino's stores and Pizza Hut has not picked up its expansion rate," the broker explained, repeating its "buy" view. "The average competing store is barely profitable, whereas the average Domino's franchisee made £520,000 profit after £300,000 of marketing and advertising spend last year." | ![]() philanderer
15/4/2010 16:07 | Posting from up Yorkshire at the in-laws today :-) Just seen Numis reiterated their 'buy' for DOM this morning with a target price of 425p | ![]() philanderer
15/4/2010 09:40 | It's nice to see a bit of a bounce back this morning - I think we're all in agreement that 5% was an over reaction. S | slowandsteady
14/4/2010 20:55 | Philanderer & RoyalIT, Having held this stock since Nov 1999 I can only reiterated that one day or one week or even month of retracement. Will not stop this stock. What will stop this stock and cause me to sell my holding is saturation. Have DOM stores reach full penetration yet? No. Have MacDonalds within the UK, probably not. Therefore I remain unphased by today's fall of nearly 5%. c2i | ![]() contrarian2investor
14/4/2010 17:00 | Well that was savage today on the back of one broker initiating coverage !....large volume though. I`ve added a few at 339p this afternoon. Fall is well overdone IMO. | ![]() philanderer
14/4/2010 11:59 | Ahem! What economic growth - Pimco and others do not expect much growth - advertising costs are as cutthroat as ever, and what competition has our analyst at Panmure got in mind? With the completion of the new distribution centre capex will fall greatly enhancing cash flow. I am looking for another 30% hike in the dividend this and next year - this is one reason for the high P/E ratio. Not long to the next update form the company - we shall see who's right. 14/4/2010 11:52 | contrarian, very harsh markdown this morning. Remember too it was only a couple of weeks ago a director bought 20,000 at 343p. | ![]() philanderer
14/4/2010 10:02 | philanderer, Morning chap. Crikey that means that Panmure Gordon holds more sway with potential UK investors than Goldman Sachs. This must be sending shivers through the corridors of power in the US. Joking aside DOM will pause and retrace like it always has done. However a closing week above £3.50p remains in sight. Additionally Panmure Gordon may just be attempting to get the price lower to get their clients on board. If you look at the upgrades and downgrades over the past 1 month, we're still holding an average target price of £3.90p. c2i | ![]() contrarian2investor
14/4/2010 09:08 | Morning all. Here`s the reason for this morning`s mark down. "Domino's Pizza initiated with sell recommendation at Panmure Gordon, TP 300p" "With the shares trading on a demanding 2010E PE of 23.5x, the market has already factored in substantial earnings upgrades for Domino's, says Panmure Gordon. The current valuation fails to reflect the emerging headwinds to LFL sales growth. 'Domino's Pizza boasts a virtuous business model that has consistently delivered results ahead of market expectations. 'However, as the economy improves, advertising costs increase and the competition strengthens, we think LFL sales growth will be below trend, consequently reducing earnings upgrade potential.' | ![]() philanderer
13/4/2010 16:41 | A good positive performance from DOM on a generally dull market day. Reasonable volume as well, 600k+ traded. | ![]() philanderer |
