'Takeaway stores feed hungry hordes'

....When the lights went out on cooking dinner on Tuesday night, Warwick's takeaway outlets picked up the slack.

Domino's Pizza store manager Jeremy Wimlaw said the blackout took their already busy Tuesday nights to a whole new level.

"We did 480 pizzas for 220 customers. We would usually do 350 pizzas. We took a lot of deliveries to west Warwick," he said. "We are always busy on a Tuesday – the storm came in on the wrong night.

"We were quoting 25 minutes for pick up which is a bit slower than normal, but we could only get in one extra staff member, so that wasn't too bad."
