14/8/2011 23:50 | 'Entrepreneur takes a bite of Perfect Pizza' Fancy a pizza the action? The UK pizza delivery and take-away market is worth £720m a year according to boffins at Mintel, so little wonder that sector giant Dominos Pizza UK & Ireland continues to deliver good results. Slightly further down the food chain, Perfect Pizza - a nationally franchised delivery business with 100 shops across the UK - struck a little financial difficulty earlier in the summer, forcing it into administration. But south London entrepreneur Jat Watsu - an accountant by profession who also has care home investments - has rescued the chain, buying it out of administration for an undisclosed price. The deal directly safeguards the jobs of 34 head office staff in Staffordshire, as well more than a thousand indirectly employed across the franchised outlets. Perfect Pizza is currently the fourth biggest national franchise - behind Dominos, Pizza Hut and Papa John's - but being the only of the four to have British roots, he hopes to grow his slice of the national pie. | ![]() philanderer | |
