Kcom claims first slice of Domino's IT strategy

6/21/11

Domino's Pizzas U.K. & IRL has signed a three-year managed services contract with communications-services provider Kcom, making it the first provider the pizza chain has selected to help implement its IT outsourcing program. The program aims to move Domino's on to a scalable IT infrastructure supported by a select number of key partners.

Kcom will provide a managed Wide Area Network (WAN) for Domino's Pizza Group, providing connectivity between each of its 672 stores across the United Kingdom and Ireland.

The network will move Domino's from an unmanaged 20CN-based network to a fully managed 21CN infrastructure, which will future-proof the Domino's store network and allow it to introduce more complex applications.

"We needed an infrastructure that was going to do two things; support the growth of our business now and allow for us to plan for growth in the future," said Colin Rees, Domino's IT director. "Domino's is currently doing around 36 percent of its business online - by 2015, we want it to be two-thirds."

also the debt to equity to ratio is higher than 1 hence assets are mainly financed by debt .

Dominos need to improve this .

Head and shoulders says 250-300 (head length ca. 150p, double and subtract from peak). Of course that assumes shoulder at 450, from the 2 year chart could easily be at 400 in which case you get 200.

I do apologise for the deramp but I'm not joining the pizza party until this formation is sorted one way or the other.

Domino's growth speeds through UK

Who needs fish and chips when you can order pizza? That's a question many Brits must be asking as Domino's Pizza enjoys sales increases due to online, iPhone and Android ordering. In fact, the company's 2010 sales were up almost 20 percent, and as of January more than one-third of all orders were placed via the company's website and iPhone app.

Now the pizza chain is seeking even more growth by teaming up with motorway services operator Moto Hospitality Limited to open its first unit in the convenience-store-like stop June 20 on the M4 at Leigh Delamere East services in Wiltshire.

Domino's plans on opening in more motorway service areas, including later this summer at Cherwell Valley services on the M40 in Oxfordshire. Each new store will create about 30 full- and part-time jobs.

Passengers may order ahead via phone, iPhone app or Android app or the company's mobile-optimized website.

May figures showed that the pizza chain topped sales of £10 million through its mobile channels.

"We are delighted to be joining forces with Domino's Pizza," said Tim Moss, chief executive of Moto Hospitality Limited. " The brand has a fantastic reputation and is continuing to expand at a rapid rate, so we are pleased to get on board and introduce our customers to Domino's."
