Dear Elmfield.. a reader just alerted me to your post 940 .. to clear things up
I bought 2,000 at 12.40 on the 25th and 1,500 at 8.45 on the 24th (500 more shares in total than I said in the diary) both at 120. I would normally have posted these the day after but my son was suddenly very sick and therefore updating my site was the bottom of my list of things to do. If you really don't believe the trades I have the contract notes (I usually chuck them but haven't got round to opening the post yet) which I can send you if you really want in return for a £50 donation to the RSPCA you can contact me at robbiethetrader@aol.com.

Funchal - fyi It was one share in a long list researched live at the seminar and 70% of delegates thought it the best share to buy. Looks good for 150 imo when I would probably though not necessarily be tempted to sell half and keep the rest.

Anyway none of this matters, my boy is improving and Elmfield you are completely forgiven for the post - looks like you are a pretty good investor. Cheers Robbie.

elmfield,i looked at his website today, seems his young son was in hospital so i gather that friday was his first update since 19th nov.as his sharelist is still not updated its impossible to say when he actually made the purchase, but i have a feeling its probably around the time the share price jumped 10p.not sure when his seminar was but hopefully a lot more people now know more about dmatek and its prospects.

seems the naked trader is at it again, following from his website on friday 5th-

And I returned to Dmatek (DTK) again discussed at the seminar picking up 3,000 shares at 120p. Target 150 stop 112. The price tumbled after a bid was withdrawn but this tagging company has a great business and I think it'll get bid for next year. A strong balance sheet again here.

lets hope he sticks with it this time

Renewed bid interest? Or just reassertion of cheap fundamentals?

Nice to see anyway.

The ironic situation that we now face with the current economic climate is that much of what might previously been regarded as solid research seems to be flying out of the window as so many companies face unprecedented cashflow pressures and commensurate uncertainty of future trading.

Well said Elmfield, solid stuff.
Historically, I've looked for companies on a prospective PER of 10, EPS growth rates of 15-20% with cash in the bank and decent cashflow.
Currently its PERs of 5, with the same EPS growth rate, cash in the bank ditto.
The main problem in this market (other than market sentiment) is whether EPS forecasts will be achieved. If they are, then the share price remains static. If they are not, then be prepared for a sell off. Its sort of heads you don't win, tails you lose.
DTK has recently had earnings upgrades of 25% and 32% respectively for this year and next. It also has over 25% of market cap in cash.
Other than selling out completely in this market, I believe DTK offer solid value.
Best Wishes to all DTK shareholders

Simon,

To be a trader you need to be like a chess player playing speed chess. You need to be quick thinking, and absolutely sure of your instincts. You need to spend a great deal of time exploring and rehearsing possible scenarios and be able to apply this in the thick of the game when you are under time pressure. You also need the tools. You need access to the right data and the right trading set-up. All of this takes years to build up. Trying to become a trader in such volatile times is risky.

It is very easy to be sucked into trading and lose your shirt. It is much safer to resist the temptation and be patient, researching until you are convinced that you have found an opportunity that will pay out in virtually all circumstances, even if over a long period, and then build positions on this basis.

SO TRUE!!

Maybe we will get the board rejecting a bid from one of these other parties at say 160p in a week or too.

The IMS earlier this month does read very well.

Well what a strange RNS -
A shorter will read it as -
"Several approaches but not worth buying"

Longers will see it -
Several approaches all undervalued the business".

I am long so prefer the latter.

taylor20,when they give their cash balance its always in dollars,as balance sheet is stated in us$,think over the years they have mainly kept their bank deposits in euros,i am fairly sure they would not keep it in shekels.
as for the latest announcement,no suprise really, since the purchase of protech monitoring, the business has gone up a couple of gears, coupled with the leap in lease contracts giving excellent forward earnings visibility.however the shareprice has not reflected that,or anywhere near it.and therefore its ripe for plucking.
