Funny thing how one guy losing a lot of money, out of his own gambling, can make so much noise.

The 'bulls' on here, or rather 'gamblers', oops sorry .. 'traders' clearly have no memory of retail flops. DC. isn't showing any signs of a bounce and yet they keep ramping this dog. It's dead, gone, finished, no more!

From the RBC note

"The downgrade follows a profit warning from Dixons Carphone last month when it said the UK mobile market has come under pressure since customers have not been upgrading their handsets as frequently due an increase in price of handsets.

The analysts said demand in mobile has been affected by higher new handset prices and a lack of compelling technological advancements, with customers moving more to post-pay SIM-only deals.

These short term headwinds are unlikely to ease, RBC added, so Dixons Carphone has to invest more in its offer and margin to maintain share."

The bulls on here can't read.. or else have the memories of goldfish.

"Those that say buy from eBay, yeh you put down £600 bid and risk it being faulty!"

eBay have a 100% refund guarantee and it works, I used it!

Not many investors know but carphone warehouse has a subsidiary online phone company.

The deals on there are very competitive, phones and sim only deals. including all market searches!

Those that say buy from eBay, yeh you put down £600 bid and risk it being faulty!

No warranty, nor support service!

Correct way to do it RHLL

But the risk for DC. is they HAVE to be in this market

(can't not be ... would be like a supermarket not stocking coca cola)

And they have to buy stock UP FRONT.

Order the iPhone 8 (unlocked) directly from the Apple Store, try for 14 days and return (you haven't lost a penny) If you like it, take out a GiffGaff £10 pm non contract, easy! Who needs Carphone Warehouse.

Actually certainly a few years back Dixons did not like pushing Apple products and would much rather sell you the competitions product because they could get much better margins from them.

Dixons need Apple much more than the other way round.

The hardcore ones will probably buy from Apple itself, on the upgrade program, with zero interest fee, no, while a probable fraction of a shop's clientele will buy from from it due to the obscene price?

hxxp://www.businessinsider.com/apple-iphone-upgrade-program-how-to-buy-2017-9

Either way, in a normal scenario, a monster of a company depending on a single, or a couple of product releases to make up for the entire year is not a very good strategy, is it?

I want to hear from ravin about the improving technicals in the chart that he keeps seeing

What precisely are the technicals? And how are they improving?

Expound your theories Ravin so we may sit at your feet and benefit from your wisdom

To my mind the chart on ADVFN looks like a swallow dive into the abyss without any support or resistance of any kind

But What do I know.

lol was thinking the same.

Bottomline of course there will be a hardcore of I phone fans who will buy the new model regardless thats already expected and in the price, the thing that is likely to affect the share price is if the new models extra features are better than expected and are likely to persuade more of dc's customers to upgrade.
