Out of sheer curiosity on why is this so active in here, and why are the people fighting hard to keep a positive overview at the top of the chat thread.

It must be a lot then.

Only here because this is about the only actually active chat on the matter I could find via google, I really didn't even have an account on advfn.com before that.

You can filter at will and smell whatever you want either way.

I've already stated my position, dyor.

Secondly, you don't own atm, so why post here and here only it seems according to your profile. I understand asking someone whether long or short. Also you only created your ac 24 August?!

Finally, why does the amount matter?!

I'll wait for your reply and then...

Filtered. I smell bullshyt and it is from you!

I haven't put any this time, no, I've walked away a while ago. Not sure what would be my behavior right now if I had put some, even though I must confess that I was rather tempted to last week. Very curious to see where this is leading, so pretty much playing it on practice mode at the moment.

Another significant "tell" here is the that CEO sold a bucket load of stock some months ago before the 'slow smartphone' market news broke .

Yes he has bought back .. but one tenth of what he sold ... "window dressing" one feels ... for the sake a steadying morale only

Hardly behaviour that convinces the investor...

One other thing - the median rate during 1998 you got for the £ was $1.63 so you need to add an additional 22% uplift to the mix.

So your £1 million invested in amazon would actually be worth the best part of £132 million thanks to dollar strength/£ weakness.

Put another way you would have been 148,500% better off invested in Amazon than in DC since 1998.

£1 million invested in DXNS 1998 would be worth a measly £89,000 in the new DC today.

£1 million invested in Amazon in 1998 would be worth £108 million today.

And for those that think that the trend is over:-

Well Amazon has put on another 30% year to date.

Investors in DC. do not need to be told the share price performance of DC. year to date.

It will be interesting to see how many cross up in the closing auction . Someone out there is taking the seller on. Shame it's not Dunstone or Ross.

In 1998 DXNS had an all time high of 280p in old money (Pre merger)

Well in pre merger money this company is now trading for 25p

In 1998 Amazon was trading at $9 equivalent (allowing for splits) and is now $980.

Can't you read the writing on the wall?

The flat line is a pivot level, i.e. being controlled by bots. Trading has little to do the price movements, the city spivs will move it where they like.

It strikes me that this is the same Dixons as existed a decade ago.

Worse it is now saddled in bad marriage with a bad partner in the shape of Carphone warehouse.

The synergies to be got from "the internet of things" have not materialised and are a marketing chimera that does not exist but is much spouted about by James to impress the city.

Seb has puffed and hooted and trumpeted changes but there have been no substantive ones. Apart from new carpets and lick of paint this is the same business as existed a decade ago

It is the same electrical retailer it ever was with the same wafer thin margins staffed by the very young and those that cannot get a job elsewhere; Poorly trained staff who know little to nothing about the multifarious products that they sell .

The only things it has to sell really are the overpriced insurance and 'know how' .. both frankly a con..

New decor and public school jam-roly-poly charm and enthusiasm coming from our ex-etonian friend cannot cannot disguise the fact that what CurrysPcworld does is simply being done better and cheaper elsewhere.

What betrays this fact is that James sold a substantial portion of his holdings before the recent announcement.

Anyway you slice it the merger has been a disaster - one glance at the share-price chart will tell you that.

This low margin empty shell has nothing to recommend it not for the consumer and definitely not for the investor.

yes nortic...flat lining, buys still outstripping sells so yes you are right. its happened last few days, spike down then recovery to a flat price...hoping it goes blue today, though doubt it.

technicals turning around so, ROC is easing so all good!

Ravin hang on ...the mobile market is not that important

Ravin : 'aim11, i have said this so many times that the uk mobile market plays a smaller part than the major electrical part in creating profits.'

or the iphone is going to be the greatest iphone ever.

So mobiles are important or not to this company Ravin?

Make your mind up.

Shareprice fell because of mobiles didn't it .. non?
