It was a harsh lesson and one I will not forget but I've learnt never to go back. I have a family to consider as we all have.

careful good words, the key is making money.

Even if it a few pennies (leveraged via spreadbetting) or a long term investments...it about walking away with the most possible gain and least possible loss. Thankfully, I've done well so far and hope the next turn is a big correction.

The fact is this is technically and fundamentally, overdone.

Note the huge selling was not sustainable and we can see normality now and wait for the fund managers to return from holiday, adding to their holding here or not selling at least.

gl carefull too

hard to quit that game when you are winning, even harder to walk away when you are losing.

oh ok, yes need to be aware and content with the leverage which can amplify gains or losses, though strict stop losses help with discipline. Usually ISA for long medium term and spread bet for short term gains.

gl here. hoping this week is a big move, luckily made a odd 6p and 3p here and there but looking for the 180-200p mark for the cash investment!

gl sir

Made £180,000 playing the index about 4 years ago and then gave it all back and some in 3 days. That would be another good reason why I don't dabble. On one or Two occasions I was running £2000 a point on the Dax. Now I have a BIT of discipline :)Well you did ask.....

All cash sir. Don't like CFD's because I lack discipline at times.

Nordic are you investing your shares via an ISA or a mix with spread betting to leverage the gains?

I can't disagree with you on that one, how many millions worth of shares do you need to buy and sell to make money on a move from 168 to 171?

Ravin is such a liar..

Appeared on this board after the initial slump a few weeks back and then claims to have made money going long since .

When all the share has done is gone down.

Is a total illiterate to boot.

Also on the internet you do not have the suffer the indignity of some spotty Herbert trying to foist ridiculous overpriced after care services on you that you do not need.

Spotty Herbert: (nervously)"for £1000 you have can an extended warranty on that toaster and a free helpline in case you need specialist "know how" advice for all your toasting needs... (sotto voce) Please buy these useless services otherwise I will be fired at the end of the week"

And then the Savvy DC. shopper having milked as much information as possible out of the store ....

Goes home and buys the same item on the internet for less.
