investec has the same profit forecasts as everyone else now, give or take a few million. Its just in line with the new company guidance. The price target is only from some variation of the multiple on which that is placed, made more difficult by not only this company having overseas operations, but also by the fact they don't precisely split UK profit between mobile and other.

Although that said he sold 1 million shares for 2.8 million quid in July so atleast he sold some of his holding

But not as large a chunk percentage-wise as Seb and Seb got a better price

Careful, from what i know, these analysts have large economic and retail research teams...forecasts, company projections, industry progression and peer analysis.

It's basically models, and models only work on what you input.

In essence it investec's word against credit suisse's words. One points to a lower projection and credit suisse believes this is basically overdone - amongst other, though yes a lower price target form here.

for me i'd like to see the analysts track record across the board, even fund managers to percieve what is decent research and what is bullshyt.

i bit like filtering posters here tbh : undervalueasstes, weemonkey and s2rday...all spout rubbish.

aim11, i have said this so many times that the uk mobile market plays a smaller part than the major electrical part in creating profits.

about 20 months ago these were £5.
All of this fancy analysis at 170p is comical.
love to see the analysis and target prices from 2 years ago.

only about 25% of the new profit forecast is UK mobile, the rest is UK electricals, or the Nordic business for example. On the basis that at 170p the entire net profit is on 6x, its quite easy to get a target much higher than 170p, just by putting the non-mobile 75% on a more normal retail multiple of 10x + . Of course that's not saying profit couldn't get cut further to send the stock lower. But IF you assume the reset profit number is OK, then most targets would easily be higher than 170p.

Aim11 no ..

Seb has 632 thousand shares

Seb sold 302 thousand shares for £951,000 in Feb.

Seb has now bought back 25 thousand share for £44,000 last week (more in hope than anger ... as I said derisory amount and just window dressing)

This all from sharescope (which is only 99% accurate .. so purists may wish to check these figures)

Not stupid Seb is he ? when it comes to his own money...

Seb James buying and selling betrays his real feelings about this company whatever specious claptrap he may spew about the company in public.

Seb sold a shed load when the price was high (based on incipient bad news he knew was coming )

Seb has now bought a couple of thimble fulls back (in order to save face and for a bit of window dressing.)

Want to know what people think of any given situation? Look at what they DO not what they say... especially when it comes to money..

The analysts are mostly looking very foolish and the average price target for this stock is way north of the current price.

Analysts hate being this wrong so I expect a flurry of price adjustments lower from the Analyst community no matter what rating they give DC. stock.. Buy, Add, Hold, or Sell we will see a trending down of price targets.

This IS gradually happening but I fully expect more of the same ..

Analysts are all sheep and like to have their prices more or less aligned to the actual market price.

For now the actual price and the downtrend is making them and their price targets all look very foolish.

Sr2dayYes that is one of my uncertainties about buying DC. His timing of the sale (950,000 was it?) was spot on. I would like to see him reinvest. Interesting that he hasn't.
