Got my dividend on 28th with II but have been charged 30% tax. I have a W8 BEN but thought the uk listing would make this superfluous. Have messaged them this morning.

Any DEC Shareholder not received their Dividend yet with Hargreaves Lansdown. I have informed them this morning that I require my Dividend plus 4 days of interest on my SIPP DEC dividend, because all other UK Brokers were paid the dividend on 28/03/2024.This as been done purposely. Holding the dividends over the Bank holiday weekend for the Interest. My Son as a £509k Fund and share account Portfolio that I gifted him. He as threatened to transfer it to Interactive Investor. Not good enough HL must be getting desperate doing this. There can be no excuse with all other Brokers paying out on 28/03/2024 !

fred177 — IG also charged the wrong rate of WHT on my DEC dividend, but corrected it pretty swiftly this time: to 15% on 29 March.

IG haven't applied the W8 BEN so been deducted 30% this has happened before hope they correct it quickly

Still no dividend from HL. They may be slow but seem to give a better XR. Are you remembering to take off withholding tax? FYI using xe.com mid point:
15/12/23 (FAIR) midpoint 0.783065, HL gave me 0.79017 - yes a better rate than official.
29/12/23 (DEC) mid 0.785339 got 0.78186 after 15% tax
18/1/24 (BABA) mid 0.788852 got 0.77908

Likewise I got 0.68 exchange rate when going rate is 0.79. I'll be chasing them for explanation tomorrow. Suggest you do the same. Will keep you posted. No platforms are looking good!

I sent an email containing a copy&paste of the entire dividend transaction, details of how much I believe I should have been paid, reason why I think they've deducted too much withholding tax, my account number, account holders name and a copy&paste of w-8ben status.

All I got back was;

Dear Client ,

Thanks for your email.
I kindly ask you to give us more information to help you.

Cant make head nor tail out of my IG payment (I've just emailed them for clarification) and AJ Bell used 0.68 as the conversion rate for my holdings there!!

Bazboa - are your shares in SIPP, ISA or fully taxed?

This is what you should get on those numbers;

SIPP 1,137 x 0.875 x 0.7869455 = £782.91
ISA -15% = £665.00
outside ISA -30% = £548.04

Just trying to figure out if they've screwed up for everybody, or just me.

Looks to be correct from what I can tell in the history section Eg. 1137@0.875 converted at 0.7869455

did IG pay you the correct dividend?
They've deducted 30% withholding tax from payment into my ISA.
I've checked and the w-8ben is still active.
