16/1/2024 13:58 | Europe is definitely not awash with natural gas. It currently has very high levels of storage. However, this is solely due to massive imports last year. It will need to continue with large imports to maintain their needs. Countries like the UK have very little storage Capacity and lowproduction. | ![]() 2wild
16/1/2024 12:21 | If one is looking to the long term, the cause for concern is surely the huge expansion in gas production. The world is now awash with the stuff, with reserves at unusually high levels both in Europe and the USA. We are hedged, but those hedges have to be renewed for future production at prices reflecting then prevailing gas prices. That said, historically DEC has used periods of low gas prices to buy assets cheaply. High prices lead to increased production, increased production leads to lower prices and lower prices lead to reduced production, and so the cycle goes on. The business model is built round that cycle. | ![]() 1knocker
16/1/2024 12:17 | Anyone paying withholding tax should transfer to a sip. They will get a 25% Capital uplift from the taxman. Effectively giving a yield of 32% on new contributions invested into DEC. | ![]() 2wild

16/1/2024 11:18 | If you asked me - can buy some at this lowest point . I reckon it may go back up over £10.50 to £11.00 until Q4 update. From the this morning RNS , DEC confirmed no material change to its current state 😊 | ![]() stevensupertrader
16/1/2024 11:06 | So what’s your plan supersteve? | ![]() imnotspartacus
16/1/2024 11:05 | I have bought a few more. E&P is rocks and people. Here we are P rather than E but that saying still stands. I trust the P although the newer higher flow wells need to prove their production profile. I trust the people having met management and the real workers in the pickups visiting the well sites. | ![]() bmw30csl
16/1/2024 10:59 | After DEC RNS and yesterday 25000 shares buyback - I reckon this Is the lowest share price until Q4 update at the end of the month - only if Div is cut. Should Div is maintained, DEC rockets back up | ![]() stevensupertrader
16/1/2024 10:41 | Irrespective, they have teeth. And they will ensure carnage is created. New lows to be tested? | ![]() whites123
16/1/2024 10:16 | Even if one is paying the U.S. with held tax, DEC is still has a dividend yield of 20% which means in less than 5 years one gets ones initial capital investment back. | ![]() loganair
16/1/2024 10:10 | I took advantage of the daft pricing to put the last 5k of my USA allowance in yesterday at 9.94. Looking forward to receiving the divi’s and at some point some sanity returning to the price. | ![]() davocon
16/1/2024 10:09 | As a long term holder there are a couple of things occuring to me which give cause for concern. 1. Long term FD resigns. Its a not a complex business model but its not an east-read either. so open space for those who wish to make mischief/money. 2. The so called green agenda seems to have captured the mindset of the many middle and leftish politically and under 30's to a degree of religious fervour. it doesnt matter that they cant see carbon fuels as the transition/back-up energy for 15 to 20 years esp gas. Hoping the update numbers and the divi will call off the dogs but i'm minded to think there's an easy target in DEC for future trouble based on fake science reports as ammo for shorting. | ![]() mindthestash
