I have said for years that the size of the dividend may be a deterrent to new buyers, not because of the balance sheet but because 'even a 12% dividend, never mind a 25%+ dividend, causes any prospective buyer to suspect it is loo good to be true. Because of the way GAAP accounting works, any cursory reading of the accounts will tend to confirm that view. All the same, with such a dividend (size and history) one might expect that a fe savvy income fund managers would look a bit deeper into the business model and would understand how the current accounting rules do not flatter that model, and, if we are right, to have made significant purchases.

So far, the dividend has held and nothing has changed (save the unwelcome US political interest in the business) since the share price was 100p, or indeed 130p (£20 and £26 adjusted for the share consolidation).

I am holding, but as I am up to my portfolio weighting limit here, I am not adding.

With the US closed for MLK day they can move the share price down all day ,but its a good day to buy thats for sure.

Its not a recent scamming the share price ......they were at it years ago...with the Bloomberg article.....and they have never stoped.

Alternative thought is it might have more to do with the market's closed in the states today.

Whatever the reason it is a big drop from a low price.

My advice - don't get uncomfortably deep in any share, however attractive it and the price look. Set your weighting limits and stick to them. The Market, like Nanny, may know best. Nothing is certain.

All the same, I wish I was opening my position here! I am down nearly 50%, so my income return on capital invested is only about half the headline dividend, and twice that would be a gift from the gods. AT present though, for me it is now a relief rather than a joy every time a dividend is paid.

This has been happening for years......its just that it has got totally out of hand recently.

Look at the graph.....1 hour candles.....sp droped 5.38% in the first hour.......for no reason.......just set the bot/algo to sell.....and tank the share.

As long as the scammers can do this, make money.....and get way with it.....they will.

I have no position here but boards cluttered with posts about "scammers" really put off potential investors. A couple of weeks ago i posted a link to a fund manager saying that new look through environmental reporting stopped DEC being fairly valued. i wonder whether there is an institution or 2 that is selling put at any cost before that reporting requirement kicks in. Anyone know?

This share has been scammmed for years.....its a lot of AT trades......these are done by a bot/algo.......and are programmed to decrease the share price

The company is fine......but the scammmers have found a way to decrease the share price ....and they make money out of it.

Someone is scammmming this share....particularly on LSE.

It gets hit att he open most days......they pile in with sell orders...and tank the price.

I dont see how we can stop them doing this.
